[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Be with my family, church family and friends.

2. Working hard to accomplish a task that brings others joy.

3. Serve my wife her morning coffee, breakfast, and supper.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

My close circle of friends that I’ve had a 30 year plus relationship with and their child who think of me as their uncle. Those age groups are the 60’s, 20’s, and 30 somethings.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Getting members to discover the gifts they have to use in service to God. The thing that concern me the most is when people want others to serve them instead of jumping in and serving along side of each other.

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

My faith was developed through watching and learning from my parents. Once I became an adult I developed my on faith and came to know what it meant to be a true follower and believer. To be obedient I gave my life to God and was baptized at the age of 22.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Worked with the youth ministry for years from 1980 to 1991. Served as a deacon for the next two years at Quince Road Church of Christ. Memphis, Tn.

Then helped start Community Church and help preach, teach, and lead worship for the next 6 years. Memphis, Tn.

For the last 21 years I’ve been at Hope Church serving as a substitute bible teacher, elder, and volunteering in many areas. Now I’m on staff at Hope. Memphis, Tn. area.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Working with teenagers and being asked to serve as a deacon.

Helping to start a church that welcomed anyone who came in the doors.

Joining a large church that loved me in spite of my flaws.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

An elder that treated people very unkindly and was not held accountable for that behavior by the other elders.

Being wounded by such a legalistic and condemnatory church up bring.

Leadership that has an agenda of their own to see themselves elevated instead of God being glorified.
