This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I find “doing” for others satisfying, with or without recognition. I like seeing others smile.

Organization and planning is my career, and according to those I work with, I do it well, so i guess it is a gift.

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Prior to this test, I would not have listed teaching as a spiritual gift. Teaching takes patience and the ability to take the whole and present in pieces for understanding and assimilation. Though I personally tackle learning new things this way, I’m not sure I would have considered this as a gift from God.

[H]eart

1. Working in my garden – I love working in the dirt, being creative with the plantings, and watching the plants bloom.

2. Being with my family & loved ones for family dinners or other types of relaxing, fun get-together moments where we can just enjoy each other’s company.

3. Accomplishing a goal that I set out to achieve, especially ones that require self-discipline. Even a small one, like getting up early when I really want to stay in bed, gives me a sense of accomplishment and encouragement to keep going.

I really don’t know. It depends on the situation and the purpose. I do know that I prefer not to work with very young children.

I was raised in a Christian home and accepted Jesus as my savior when I was 12.

Women’s Encounter with BSCC

Have taught Sunday School twice to 3 yr olds and kindergartners a very long time ago — learned it’s not for me

Knowing my mother-in-law – a woman with joyful strong faith who stayed strong and focused on following Jesus, even while battling cancer and knowing she was losing the battle.

Going to church camp as a teenager – I attended for several summers and many of the foundations I learned from it I still carry with me.

Learning/singing gospel songs or Biblical related works – music was a huge part of my academics and I found great joy and comfort in singing to God. One piece in particular I learned in high school choir was a rendition of Psalm 51. I learned the words since it was a song we sang, but a handful of years afterwards, I came to truly embrace the gist of the Psalm and gleaned a much greater understanding of asking for and being renewed.

General financial struggles — over the years, I have had moments of financial ups and downs — some of my own stupidity and bad judgement, some not. While I still don’t have it perfect, I have a much better understanding of God’s expectation for my finances.

Three times in my life, I have experienced a close family member suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease (my dad, my grandmother and my husband’s grandmother). The range of emotions that family members struggle with is challenging, depressing and can be emotionally draining. It’s tough, knowing that your loved one will never get better.

Losing a job….then trying to find another one – twice I have experienced the sudden loss of a job (once due to my error and once due to company reorganization). It’s not easy to suddenly be without a job, and it can be even harder trying to find a new one. Self-confidence is questioned and uncertainty of finances can loom large.
