S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Denise Nugent for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Teaching (90%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have lead small groups, teens. I have walked with the Lord for over 60 years, and have learned much I can pass on. I have a clear Christian world view. I have learned precepts, truths that can help guide through life. Peaceful, abundant life comes from the application of His word, and I have thought a lot about application, walking by faith

#2 Gift, Giving (81%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I’ve experienced God’s faithfulness in provision, and grew up knowing that you cannot outgive God. I have a desire to see His ministries thrive, to bring as many as possible to heaven, have given all to Him, as all was already His, and I belive we are stewards of all we have.

#3 Gift, Evangelism (75%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I feel a little weak in evangelism, although I can lead a person to Christ, I am fearful of saying the wrong thing and causing them to be regress on the path to Christ. I’ve most often found myself in the planting and watering roles, and less often in the gathering or reaping role . I do have a Heart for evangelism, and love to give to successful evangelistic efforts.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love to share one on one, or in a small group how God has moved in my life, the lessons I have learned.

2. I love to organize my thoughts about walking by faith, and often write paragraphs or essays on the amazing ways He can work. I hope to be able to pass on some of these, so that others can watch for God working in their lives, and be encouraged

3. I love to read authors who have known the Lord – to gain even more perspectives on God’s truths. It is like turning a diamond in the sun to see all the facets

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Probably adults with a desire to learn

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I should probably take the course on counseling. I’ve done a lot of informal supportive counseling over the years as a physician. I feel I could speak on “walking by faith”. I would like to support single moms – as I was a single mom myself. I would like to support teens and young men and women through the minefield of new relationships. But I am older now, and adults may relate to me more. I have served adults in small groups

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I asked Christ to forgive my sins, and live in me when I was 5 years old.
When I was 23 I really became a disciple, and committed to do things only His way

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

1987-1995 Worship team member Faith Bible Church Stratford Canada
1992-1994 Youth leader and Youth sunday school teacher

Small group leader – similar years, same church, Then also in Hemet CA – a ladies group for 1-2 years

2017 served 2 months in a bush hospital in Zambia ( was sent through World Medical Missions)

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

The decision at 23 years old to give God every part of me, and to submit to His lordship without reservation. He has been right by my side every since

God’s support and guidance, encouragement to prepare for, apply, and go through medical school as a divorced mom. I really felt He made me for this, and carried me ( and my son!) through the whole 8 years as it turned out.

The experiences of hearing ( sometimes years later) the positive influence God exerted on a life through me. These are a great encouragement. It is my deep desire to serve Him, and when I can see the fruit, then I know I’ve been obedient in some way.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Going through difficulties in marriage, divorce, and a husband’s unfaithfulness

Struggle with weight

caregiving elder parents
