[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love to share the love of God to others no mater who they are or what their stage of life may be. Special outings with God are a wonder experience.

2. I enjoy getting to listen to those who are hurting or bewildered concerning how God can work in their life.

3. I find great joy to be allowed to serve others in a variety of different areas. Service seems to be the heartbeat of my expression of love.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

The good part about working with others to serve our Lord is that physical age seems to of no importance as you focused on God and his plan.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Discipleship is very important to me. It appears that this area has always been a challenge for the body as we get pulled in varying directions. Because of this I get excited when it takes place.

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I began my walk with with God through the influence of my dad. He was a man of “service” to the point of neglect of family. He ministered through the leading on the choir and worship music when I was young and I was always drawn to his ability to be a great communicator. The Lord drew me to himself at the age of 9 and unfortunately this was pre discipleship so it was hit and miss for me until I was married and found myself involved with Carroll Ray, who took up the task of mentoring me, God is so good and His patience with me is unbelievable.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

I began serving God by leading a young married group at First Baptist Burleson, I was later ordained a deacon to serve in the congregation. Gay and I served there for 12 to 14 years. We attended the newly formed Christ Chapel and was ask to serve as a deacon there but declined, long story, and found our way to Cleburne -First Baptist where we served as deacon and bible study leader under Ron Horton, we served there for 6 to 9 years and then off to Arlington and service at Pantego Bible Church. What a blessing to see God work through the singles ministry as coleaders. From Pantego to First Baptist Euless where God chose to give us a time of rest from our leading to being followers. We grew under several great leaders. Now it was time to go to Saginaw and again a First Baptist Church, here we lead in a couples class and enjoyed God’s gift of a harvest. Just two more stops , first to Northpointe Joshua where we lead the senior adult class and discovered yet another of God’s Blessings through service. A short stop over at Lane Prairie Baptist and now we find ourselves at Oak Grove Baptist. Frankly I am not sure of God’s desire for us yet but I know He will reveal his mission in His timing.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

1. Young married class under the leadership of Carroll Ray

2. Serving with Ron Horton and Mike Paslay at First Burleson

3. Growing up in a Godly home with a dad that allowed me to know his love for me and the fact that life involves relationships and service.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Pastor search committee at First Burleson and the witness of a pastor lead astray.

First Cleburne and the unkind words of pastor Duck

Wondering for a season apart from God and my unreasonable expectations.
