S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Heidi Crawford for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Serving (87%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
This is giving back to the Lord. He has done so much for us and he asks us to serve others and put others first.

#2 Gift, Mercy Showing (81%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I feel compassion for others and an empathy of being in their shoes. We all fall short of the glory of God and each one of us deserves to have the love of God revealed to us

#3 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (65%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Again, I empathize with others and feel especially drawn to those who are suffering in one way or another. To bring joy or hope to someone is so important and can make a huge difference in their lives.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Daily prayer and scripture reading and spending time ( and growing closer)with Jesus. If I am able to share something related to this with a close friend or relative, that’s pretty neat.

2. Meeting the needs of others ( strangers or family and friends) by helping with whatever is important to them

3. Visiting folks in nursing homes or taking time to chat with someone that you meet who seems to need some encouragement. (I love serving at church and being a Greeter to make everyone feel welcomed and loved.)

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I enjoy meeting and speaking with all ages. I am perhaps more drawn to adults and gravitate probably most to the elderly.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Greeting, Food Bank, Bible studies

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Although I grew up in the Lutheran church and believed in Jesus, I did not ask him to be my saviour until 1995, after transitioning to a Bible church. It became my desire to follow Him and I was baptized a few years later.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Meeting my husband, who shared biblical truths and knowledge with me and who guides me through the scriptures.

Caring for my mother, mother-in-law and 2 aunts in their later years. Although it was difficult, I could see the Lord’s hand in helping me through this.

LCBC church ministry. The love that flows from the church members/pastors and the many ways of learning and building on the relationship with God have been a HUGE blessing in my life.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Losing my Grandmother at 21 and then 6mos later losing my Dad.

DVT in my leg that hospitalized me for several days .

Financial hardships
