S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you DJ Jergensen for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Practice doing this. And I enjoy being in front of people trying to help them understand the goodness of God.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I am not sure this really is me. My only guess is that I really enjoy it when an organization runs smoothly and is sustainable. I also watching other people getting involved in using their gifts for the kingdom.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I long for people to know the love of God. If I could have any gift it would be this, but realistically I struggle to know what to say and how to help people individually know the Love of God.
[H]eart
1. My family. I love it when my family is healthy, on rhythm, and is full of life.
2. Young Leaders. I love watching young leaders grow in their gifts and capacity for leadership. I love believing in people before they believe in themselves.
3. Adventure. I love doing new things, encountering problems and getting a team of people together to explore solutions for these things. I also love charting new paths to new territories.
Energetic, humble, willing, teachable, heart people. I love it when people are engaged in the mission and it doesn’t matter to me what age, color or background these people have. I also love working with confident people – who don’t use their confidence in a domineering way – but who meekly (Beatitudes idea) fight for what they believe in.
I love the big picture – where we are going and how to get there. I also love to pioneer and push into areas that the reach of God is not yet in.

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.
Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
[E]xperience
Grew up in church and was baptized in High School. But it really stuck in college, when I had a low point in life. I realized that God loved me, and that my low allowed me to give up my life and trade it for the life that God had for me. I have been following him ever since, to the best of my ability. My life verse is Galatians 2:20
Men’s Ministry Director – Junior Year at Taylor University
Community Ministry Director – Senior Year at Taylor University
Youth Pastor – Grand Junction 2005-2013
Marriage to Vanessa and then having kids.
The series of people who I respected believing in me and inviting me to serve in ministry.
Discovering my hunger for solitude in the outdoors as a way to connect with God.
Life long struggle to believe that my identity is loved by God without any act of performance to secure that love.
Serving in an unhealthy church staff and culture in Grand Junction.
Struggling to feel successful as a pastor and trying to learn how to deal with so much conflict.
