S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Donna Johnson for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I am happy being in a supporting role and getting things accomplished. I don’t mind being behind the scenes.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I am interested in reaching those who are unchurched and letting them know that church can be a good place to be – without all the negative stereotypes that people have. I would like our church to have more of an outreach program – such as Faith and in-home visits.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I enjoy participating in projects that actually help people – assisting them with home chores, rides, etc. I already participate in Habitat for Humanity and deliver Meals on Wheels. I hope to participate in the Food Pantry once I am retired. It is hard to get involved in many things when one is still working full-time.

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.
Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
[E]xperience
I was raised in a Christian home and attended church from an early age. I made an early profession of faith and was baptized, but came to know Christ my savior at 15 and was baptized again. I have now been a Christian almost 50 years and am so thankful that He is my Lord and Savior and has stayed with me through hard times as well as good times.
Since my first husband was a pastor, I have served in numerous positions throughout 25 years of being a pastor’s wife. I’ve been church pianist when necessary – and also the organist. I’ve worked in the nursery and in children’s choir. Have served as GA camp counselor.
Leaving Dallas and moving to Louisiana in 1985 made me realize that people live in many different conditions and their cultural outlook affects the church and how it ministers. The church was located in a very poor community and racism was common. It was a challenge to lead the congregation to love all people.
Becoming a divorced, single mom at the age of 46 was the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced. It has definitely given me empathy with single moms and more sensitive to how the church treats divorced people. Many things that were targeted for “families” seemed to make me feel unincluded and like a failure.
