Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Accepted Christ when I was 10, Baptist Church. Distanced from organized religion during my late teen & early adult years. Attended & participated in church, UMC, most of my adult life. But my real walk with christ began through working with youth & mission in my previous church, Cumming, GA.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Cumming First United Methodist Church. Working with passionate youth in summer missions to rural Tennessee and Kentucky, to serve and witness the the very poor in the rural coal mining area.

Served on the Mission Finance Committee, 4 years. Youth mission team leader 8 yrs., Graphics and promotional materials for the yearly missions consignment sale. Food Pantry, Family Promise, Thanksgiving Dinner for the community, & Decorations Committee intermittently.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Witnessing the passion of the church’s youth and acting on their beliefs.

Coming to the understanding that the material things in life really don’t matter as much as society tells us they do. This resulted in the leap of faith, leaving a very high paying corporate job, to become a teacher at 1/4 of the salary.

Continuous teaching from my father that we are all equal in the eyes of God. Skin color, social status, looks, etc. have very little weight. When he died in an accident while I was only 15, it really shook up my faith for many years.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Not applying myself in high school, and the up hill battle to overcome this and go to college later than my peers, and to succeed.

Recently, the crumbling of a 14 year marriage, the financial devastation that resulted from the bitter divorce, and having to start over in my late 50’s.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Mentor, lead, support our children and help them identify and follow their passion. In my opinion, this is just not done well in our current education system. Students learn “math” with no context of how it is used, “Science”, “Language Arts” and so on.

4. Assist and support our ageing and retired community.

5. Identify, join, and participate in a meaningful small group that would help me grow in my depth of faith.
