Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I am born again at the age of 8 at church as I knew I needed Jesus as my Savior at that young age. But, because of the dysfunction in my home, I backslid during my junior high and senior high years. I came back to God through my personal encounters with Jesus as I was about ready to kill my Dad and myself.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

I was drummer and vocalist in both the Iowa A/G church and Word of Faith church, a total combined of about 10 years. I did puppet ministry in the children’s church at both the A/G and Word of Faith churches in Iowa, for a total of 6 years.

I was a co-leader of one of Rhema’s nursing homes teams for about 4 years.
I was a co-leader of Rhema’s evangelism team for 2 years.
I was also an usher on Wednesday nights for about 4 or 5 years.
I also was an altar care worker on Wednesday nights at Rhema for 3 years.
I did prison ministry at Rhema for 6 months; it wasn’t a good fit for me.

I was a camera operator at Rhema for a couple years.
I was part of the Connections Team with Emily for about a year at Rhema too.
I was part of the Disaster Relief Team at Rhema for about a year. (I went to Joplin.)
I was a Healing Technician for a total of 11 years and about half of that as a Leader.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

My Iowa (Word of Faith) Pastor helped me in so many ways. He not only mentored me in God, but also on how to be a man. He was really more of a father-figure to me.

I went to Mardi Gras for 11 years as part of an evangelism team (in Iowa, A/G ministry). I saw God do so many awesome things in peoples’ lives.

I really enjoyed being a Healing Technician and being mentored and stretched by Mrs. Leigh Ann.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

I grew up in a very dysfunctional home life. My Mom was severed depressed all of my childhood. My Dad was verbally and sometimes physically abusive. My Mom passed away in 08′ before I was married.

I was placed in the special ed/behavioral classroom beginning in 4th grade due to a non-medical diagnosis from one teacher. That landed me in that special-ed class for the rest of my elementary, junior high and high school years. I understand that I was depressed as a child because of my home life, but I feel that I should not have been placed in that special classroom my entire childhood.

Because of being in the special ed/behavior classroom, I was rejected by most of my peers growing up. This caused me to then hang out with these behavior-problem kids who were friends with older drug dealers and such. I was friends with people like that because they were the only ones who didn’t reject me.
