I have a masters in educational counseling and love working with youth of all ages but mostly with high school age.
I also have a degree in nursing and have a love for working with an older population as well.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I have a concern with today’s youth culture and family concerns. I would like to see the church become proactive regarding youth drug use and it’s impact on the family. I would like to see a counseling program or support group that would offer support to teens who demonstrate risky behaviors.

My current vocation:

I am a public speaker and over the years have had the opportunity to speak to thousands of families regarding the drug culture our children are exposed to today. Although I am retired, I continue to offer my services as a volunteer.

Other jobs I have experience in:

As a high school crisis counselor I have led numerous small support groups addressing various topics including drug use/addiction, anger management and diversity issues.

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I truly became a Christian when I learned that I needed to have a personal relationship with Jesus as my Savior. I began that process over a decade ago. Having that personal relationship with Christ has changed my life.

returning to school at the age of 40 to become a counselor.

leaving the school setting to become director of a non profit organization

raising 2 children that I am very close to and being married for 45 years to my life partner

helping two very important friends in my life cope with devastating personal loss in their lives

the physical loss of both of my parents and the separation from my siblings
