Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.
Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
[E]xperience
I accepted Christ at age 15.. I was raised in the church.. spent a Ton of my life there.. have always had the church and relationships with my church friends at the center of my life.. although other friends prominently influenced me too. I have walked with Christ and fallen away at different intervals. I love my time with him.. I am convicted by the life that I live compared to what would Jesus do.. and while Im not the greatest sinner.. I am a sinner. I have made several changes in my life that have brought me back to the place where, I see Him better and where I know that Im movingtoward his ways more. My current business invironment is a very difficult on.. and the stress of that may be keeping me from having the joy/ purpose in my life that I really want for this later stage of my life..
Calvary Baptist church.. Tyler, TX- when i was a kid and through college.
Northwest Baptist Church, Dallas Texas and Park Cities Baptist Church, Dallas.. I was a deacon and a young leader. Then got divorced.. and was “separated” from the church. Was accepted at the
Lovers Lane Methodist Church.. When remarried she( Jill went to north west Bible church.. i joined there and we were active members in Sunday school , kids programs( teaching) etc. a
After 3 years ( i was early/mid 40’s) we helped build a church
Built church was tC( would prefer not to name it) . Had 50 people atttending. We watched it grow.. helped it grow.. to several hundred. I was an elder.. and was actively involved in teaching/ mentoring coaching.. etc.. yet seemingly, the church went off the rails. Integrity in question… moral fails, etc.. see below. After leaving that church.. I was divorce again.. and i joined a large mega church.. and sat in.. but didn’t participate much ‘07- ‘2010. Then moved to AL.
I have a few friends who have been there for me .. and who have walked through a lot with me. Bobby Beddingfield, Neal Turner, Scott Spiker ( my current CEO)..
I have had some great role models.. Christian guys who loved the lord and walked the talk… Doug Maxwell, Greg Glosser, Barry David.. Shawn Todd.. bobby Beddingfield, Ken Brannon.. my boss, at Smith Barney Bill shakelford… my boss at two other firms.. Ive also had som coaches in my life, who were / are influential.. John Stanko , Bobb Biehl. Both helped me a lot..
My dad was a tremendous man.. a hard worker. And somewhat insensitive guy.. who had little education but who pressed through the challenges of life.. and taught me a lot.. While we had our moments. I found him to be something of a “ rock” in my life.
Mid use of leadership and manipulation of people at the next to last church in Dallas. Speaking in tongues, healings, etc.. were seemingly faked.. church leaders use funds inappropriately for their own personal gain.. they even obligated the church to guarantee their home losn( because their personal credit was not good). I left over redirection of funds for down payment on their $1MM house.. among other things..
My divorces shaped me and caused me to see the reality of “ my part “ in the diffences that cause our divorces. Marriage one ended with my alcoholic wife, never being able to recover.. and I had to take the kids away.. was horrible.. yet I see that i was too demeaning of her.. didn’t have the grace that I should have. Second marriage ended with disparate relationship, no capacity to do the p[[hysical.. and a wife that really seemingly cared about me but who couldn’t be in authentic husband wife relationship. After a lot of counseling, ( Christian based). My counselor helped me see that it was hopeless. And that her move toward another person probably was the end of it .. I see a lot of what I did wrong in this marriage too..
Growing up , I didn’t have much.. and had little confidence.. I found what I felt like was what I was meant to do.. found success there and was able to move past the confidence issues.. and to live a very abundant life. My parents didn’t trust others.. and we were significantly insular.. I have always ( later in life anyway) been able to look beyond, to forgive .. I learned a lot from my mistakes. My condemning ( im right) attitude has moved to “ not condemning”.. i pray it stays that way.
