S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Donna Lober for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. [H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love to be at church with God’s people. I love being encouraging to others who are struggling with something.

2. I love my family and to be able to help/guide the younger ones toward God. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. I can still pray for them and wait to see what God will do.

3. I love my spouse and am thankful to God for giving him to me. We don’t always see eye to eye on things, but life would be boring if we did. We do see our spiritual life the same way and that’s the most important thing to me.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I like to work with women to study God’s Word and how it affects life today. I also love working with couples in regard to their marriage and how it can be more than what it is today. What God wants it to be.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Marriages concern me a great deal these days. Also, music and how it’s changed in the church concern/excite me and how God can still use it to touch my heart.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was saved as a teen in a revival in a Baptist church in Independence, MO. I felt the Holy Spirit nudging me a few days before I finally gave in and accepted Jesus.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

I sang in a church choir almost my entire adult life in many Baptist churches I attended.

I’ve served on a Singles Leadership committee here at Pleasant Valley in 2000/2001.

Greg and I have serviced in the Marriage Ministry at PV for about 10 years. We’ve led marriage classes, mentored couples privately and now in Re|Engage marriage program.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Learning to be on my own and making decisions in my life trusting Him to guide me all of the way.

Marriage to my current husband. Knowing that God brought him into my life at the exact time He chose for us to meet. We’ve grown in our faith together.

Working with couples on marriage and being who God has created us to be as a husband or wife.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

The sudden death of my first spouse and helped me be sensitive to others who’ve lost a spouse.

My relationship with my only sibling, my sister, that never was what I’d always hoped and dreamed it would be. I’m not sure how this will or has given me compassion, but I hope it will.

Having a child with some mental issues, an addiction and marital abuse has helped me help others through some tough times. I’m struggling with how to help my daughter and granddaughter right now in my life.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. To be the witness and Godly Christian woman that God has created me to be.

4. Never fear sharing my faith with others, no matter what the outcome may be.

5. Go to the Holy Land.
