[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Having worship and bible study with my wife and 2 boys every night before bed time, is the highlight of my day.

2. Keeping fit. Eating healthy and exercising, doing my bit, to stay alive so that I, hopefully, spend good quality time with my young family. I do my bit and God do the rest.

3. Ministering to children and teens. Just seeing their faces light up, when they get to understanding the greatness of our God. How fearfully and wonderfully they have been made and that He made them with a plan for their lives. That is what”s most awarding for me.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I don’t really have a preference. I can relate to all demographics, but would have to say, my heart will always stay with the children. Any age between 0-19. so that would be children’s ministry and youth ministry.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

The lack of funds for our churches renovations. The building plans that we have. I’m worried that we may never see that happening. That we won’t see the growth, of our church, for this to happen.

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

God took this lost teen age boy and allowed him to go through various trials and tribulations, so that he could learn the value of life and the meaning of life. So that he could learn how important his life is to God, his creator and how much He loves him.
Looking back. I can see God’s hand on my life at every important crossroads I found myself at, guiding me in the right direction (Isaiah 30:21)

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Southern Grampians Life Centre, Hamilton, Victoria, Australia
Children’s Ministry Leader- 7 years

Southern Grampians Life Centre, Hamilton, Victoria, Australia
Youth Ministry Leader- 7 years

Southern Grampians Life Centre, Hamilton, Victoria, Australia
Member of the Board of Trustees- 4/5 years

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

The current pastors have had a huge impact in my life. God knew who I needed in my life at the time when they took over our church.
They have proven time and time again to be lead by the Holy Spirit and this has helped in me trusting their guidance over my life.

God promised my wife and I that we would have children, even though the medical professionals told us that we could not. Now we have 2 beautiful, fun loving and adventurous boys aged 7 and 4.

The Cell Group I belonged to in South Africa. How those guys had a positive influence through God in my life and my wife’s life. We know they are always continuously praying for us and our family.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Just walking in the local supermarket and seeing how the children interact with their parents. The lack of respect for elders and their parents are apparent in many that I have seen. Therefore, we focus a lot on respecting the elders and our parents in our Ministry to children.

Being an adopted child, gives me lots of empathy and concern for children coming from dysfunctional and single parent households.

The examples that I had of the male figures in my life, was not very positive. So now I am determined to be a positive role model for my children and their friends and the children that I come across in my daily travels.
