[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love to preach/teach and share God’s word on a level that is practical to the hearer.

2. I love worship, whether it’s in a corporate setting or alone in my car, or maybe even writing my own songs, it brings my heart joy and is really a way for me to connect with God personally.

3. I love people! I’m an extrovert and I love to be around crowds and excitement.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I work well with all kinds of people. My past roles have brought me in front of all ages, races, from all walks of life. I am comfortable adapting to the personality or style that fits a particular group of people. I have found the most success in the past working with students, young adults, and young married couples. I also have repoire with older generations because I believe strongly in “Respect Your Elders.”

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I believe the entire “experience” in a church is important. It goes back to excellence. I want to create an environment that is conducive to God’s moving, free from distractions, and excellent in nature. I love when an event runs smooth, and love to make it happen, but I can also roll with changes and be flexible

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was saved as a young student in Junior High. and lived my life at church – every time the doors were open I was there. I was filled with the Holy Spirit and called to ministry at the age of 15, and pursued my education in Bible College and then full time, part time, and even volunteer ministry for over 12 years.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Highest Praise Family Worship Ctr, Kannapolis NC 2001 – 2003 (Worship Arts)
Hendersonville Church of God, Hendersonville TN 2003 – 2006 (Worship Arts
Hope & Life Fellowship, Snellville GA 2006 – 2010 – Multiple Positions
Revolution Church – Assisted with Church Plant

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Growing Up in a healthy and thriving church, getting to experience a Biblical community that was exciting and felt more like a family than a church.

My Youth Pastor, Derek Williams. If I had to attribute my early years as a Christian to anyone, it would be him. I understand the power of a relational pastor who is willing to invest in your life on a personal level.

Hillsong Church – experiencing Hillsong (apart from the worship it is known for) revived my passion for the local church and heart to see people come to know God in a real way. Hillsong proved to me that there is life beyond failure, and that family is more than just blood.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My divorce. Watching 13 years of blood, sweat, and tears wash away gives you perspective on your relationships with everyone, and compassion for those who are struggling in their own relationships

Watching your ministry die (or so it seemed). Knowing beyond any doubt that you’re called to do something great for God’s kingdom and watching it seemingly slip away. Learning that your decisions determine your destiny, and learning to accept your mistakes and what life hands you.

Learning to cope with anxiety and depression. For years I would struggle and out of embarrassment wouldn’t talk about it and couldn’t find a way to deal with it. Through education, communication and a whole lot of grace finally understanding it and being able to help others on a practical level cope and deal with their emotions.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. I would love to Pastor a Hillsong location. I’ve only ever said it once, but I think it would be amazing to take the most well known and anointed music in the world to the music capital of the world. How awesome would it be to pastor Hillsong Nashville!

4. I would love to bring God’s word and my real-life experiences to married couples. I think showing others the warning signs, the challenges and struggles of divorce, and what it has taken to rebuild my life could potentially help to save and repair broken relationships before they go too far.

5. No matter what I dream, it always comes back to communicating God’s word. If there was truly nothing standing in my way, that’s what I would do.
