[E]xperience
I grew up in a Christian home with a Christian mother and attended Christian schools have always attended church and have had many experiences to connect with Christ on a personal level. I have spent a couple brief periods abroad as a missionary, and have helped in church in various capacities often on throughout my life. I think I have always been a Christian and do not have a moment of conversion that I can put my finger on.
I was involved with Pathfinders in the Seventh-day Adventist church in several different churches in Arizona, California, and Idaho. This was in my 20s 30s and 40s.
I served as a deacon in the Seventh-day Adventist church in several locations, including Arizona, California and Sandpoint, Idaho during my 20s through 60s.
I had the privilege of spending a year in Korea during my college life, teaching English language and Bible classes. I think that year did more for me than the people I was working with.
There were many experiences during my medical career which showed me the power of Christ, in healing in both emergent and chronic situations.
I had the opportunity for Christian education in some of my grade school time, high school, college undergrad, and grad school time. This helped formulate who I am today.
I have lost some patients throughout my career that have strengthened my compassion for the hurting.
My two sons strayed into some bad lifestyle choices for a while, but then I was able to watch them rebuild their relationship with God and those around them.
