S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Diane Teramoto for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. #1 Gift, Mercy Showing (75%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
because I’ve received so much mercy and grace from the Lord–forgiveness of sins and healing of diseases

#2 Gift, Giving (62%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I believe that salvation/to reach the lost is the most important role of the church and its members. So, I love to pray and ask others to pray for the sick, etc. and give to outreaches, revivals, etc.

#3 Gift, Serving (59%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Throughout my life, I usually haven’t been in charge or the leader but I like to come alongside people and help when they need assistance.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love to work in the garden–to see the flowers bloom, the trees produce fruit, see the butterflies flying around and hear the birds singing, Whatever God does that reminds me of Him.

2. I love to make worship instruments–worship flags, tabrets, etc. and then use them to dance to the Lord with music.

3. I love to read the Bible. Every so often the Holy Spirit highlights a scripture and tells me to pray that Word over someone or how to pray for the child hostages in Israel and Ukraine. For example, I felt prompted to pray Psalm 34 so I called my brother who was sick with cancer and his wife said that the next morning he got up early–not later as he usually did.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I love to work with children and visit people who are in nursing homes or care homes.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

For children to learn about Jesus and the Bible because I grew up without the Lord. Children today will face greater challenges(the world is a darker place) than we had while growing up.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

My mother’s friend was a strong Christian. She and her friend shared the Gospel with me. I desperately need the Lord.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

King’s Cathedral in Honolulu, HI, Assistant in Children’s ministry/Cooking for Children’s camp, not sure: 5 years?

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

For years from elementary and even into adulthood, I did a lot of crafts, especially decoupage, eggery, tole painting, counted cross stitch and worship instruments. Being creative like God helped to lift my spirit.

As a child, my neighbor who was a strong Christian took me to church for a short time.

When I first became a Christian, I had a hard time reading the Bible. So, what I did was listen to Christian worship music. As I played the CD, I listened to the songs and those that ministered to me, I played over and over again.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My mother threw my teddy bear in the fire and forced me to stop sucking my thumb when I was about 7 years old.

Getting fired from my job as a dental assistant.

Working as an Assistant Cook at the Girl Scout camp in Pupukea. We lived in an open tent. I realized I was not suited for roughing it but was a city slicker.
