S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Stephanie Plafcan for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Serving (87%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I enjoy “doing” rather than “talking.” I feel much more useful and effective when I have something to do. I enjoy serving others especially when I see that it’s a relief for them that someone is helping.

#2 Gift, Mercy Showing (56%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I show mercy because I understand we’re humans and imperfect. If Christ, who is perfect and without sin, can show me mercy, then who am I to withhold mercy from others?

#3 Gift, Administration (53%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Administration is another “doing” category. Other people see administrative tasks as menial or burdensome, while I enjoy these tasks. It helps free up other people’s time who may be better at teaching than I am.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I enjoy having a creative outlet. The creative outlet is always different, it’s never the same, so sometimes it can be a challenge to determine what creative outlet is needed at times, but there are few “standards” that help.

2. I love serving. I understand that’s a spiritual gift, but it also brings me joy. I love to serve my husband and children, I love to serve my church, I love (but don’t seek out opportunities) to serve my neighbors.

3. I love spending time with those I love. Being able to just chat (even though I’m not chatty) without an agenda can be so meaningful at times. This may come back around to serving others, but spending time with my loved ones (whether we’re doing a chore or something fun) is so special to me. During that time “doing” something, we can talk. Oftentimes it’s about nothing in particular, but other times I can learn more about the person and their struggles.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

The age or type of people I love to work with most varies depending on the work. I love loving on babies, but I feel that I’m not the best teacher to younger kids. However, I enjoy doing work with people who demonstrate maturity (there’s not necessarily an age here because there are some very mature 16 years olds out there). I appreciate doing work with people who demonstrate maturity because we’re able to focus on the task that is to be completed with minimal distractions.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I feel our church needs more direct outreach opportunities to serve the community. We partner with a lot of great programs, but we don’t give our members enough opportunities to serve the community as Fellowship Bible. (This may not be what the question is asking, but it’s a concern on my mind)

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up in church, attended a revival as a child & was “scared” into accepting Christ. Stayed involved & active with church, but in college felt empty. Rededicated my life to Christ my 2nd year of college.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Lewisville First Baptist Church, Youth Intern, Summer 2009 (?)

Super Summer church camp, summer staff, Summers 2008 & 2009, Arkadelphia, AR

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

The friends I had in college were a big influence in my rededication to Christ

Being raised in church in a way that wasn’t a punishment; it never felt forced upon me

My husband’s faith; it’s so simplistic, but inspirational to me. He challenges me to do more in my relationship with Christ

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Divorce: My parents were divorced, and there are several other family members who have gone through divorce. I understand the harsh consequences it can have on the people in the midst of divorce, but I also understand how it can impact those who have no choice

Youth Group: At my church growing up, youth was a popular thing to do. We were taught the bible, but we weren’t encouraged or taught how to live out the bible.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Create/organize outreach programs for church members to serve the community

4. Organize projects where members could accomplish something but connect with each other

5.
