S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Edward Edison for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

At a young age, probably 10 years old during Vacation Bible School excepted Christ in our local Baptist Church by walking down the isle at the alter call.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Served on the Board of Trustees four years and chair person for two years at First United Methodist Church, Ocala, Florida.

Served two three year terms on Finance Committee at First United Methodist Church, Ocala, Florida.

For about five years served on the committee of counters of tithes and offerings reporting to the financial administrator.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

My father taught me that hard work, devotion and dedication, respect for your employer would go along way in my career path.

High school Industrial Arts teacher who guided me toward the construction business.

Friend who worked for United States Gypsum that opened the door for my employment with USG Corporation.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Divorce.

Raising a blended family. Separated from and missing out on much of my two girls growth and life while having two stepsons at our home that by the way were a blessing in many ways.

Dealing with blended married children and grandchildren.
