S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Elaine Park for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Teaching (81%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I do feel comfortable leading people in smaller groups.. ex. life groups, LH college.. I have a pretty good understanding of the Bible and am passionate about theological “things” and other deep discussions, mainly because of my church involvement and the fact that I go to a Bible college

#2 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (71%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I think I’m good at looking at the positives in situations.. interning with member care also also sharpened my skills in exhortation.. I believe that we all have purpose in Christ and have a joy because of everything He offers us so it’s easier for me to see the bright side of things..

#3 Gift, Evangelism (68%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
This one kind of surprised me.. I’ve never been one to just go around to people I hardly know and strictly just share the gospel.. however, I know how Jesus has worked in my life and I feel comfortable sharing that with others.. because Jesus has been faithful in my life I want other people to experience that same joy of being a Christ follower

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Honestly I love going to church.. being a part of the church’s activities.. I always look forward to Sundays and Tuesday nights.. and any events like Camp etc.. I love ministry

2. I also love people.. I’m honestly not one of those people that can just get along with every personality super well but as a whole I love people.. how creative everyone is, how everyone has their own passions, just hanging out with different types of people, etc

3. I really like to send letters.. little gifts etc.. I love writing letters to people in general and also sending people things when something reminds me of them.. I get joy out of being thoughtful and seeing how that person reacts to me just being intentional about the little things

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I honestly do enjoy working with people older than me.. I’m a pretty good listener and am always seeking advise from people that I think have more wisdom.. mentors.. people with a lot of life experience.. however, I do enjoy volunteering with the students for life groups, girls retreat, quest, and camp

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Because of the school I attend.. I am pretty passionate/concerned about denominational things and theological views.. I enjoy discussing deeper topics about the Bible and what people believe… I also really enjoy helping people, something that “excites” me is Celebrate Recovery.. I love what that is all about

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was saved and baptized as a freshman in high school but I don’t think I truly followed the Lord on my own until my senior year of high school. That’s when I realized I needed my own relationship with Him and needed to read his Word.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

First Baptist Church Hendersonville: 2016
VBS- Kindergarten

Long Hollow Baptist Church Hendersonville: 2017
Girls Retreat Leader

Long Hollow Baptist Church Hendersonville: 2018
Quest Leader, Camp Leader, Girls Retreat Leader, Member Care Intern, LH College Core Team Leader, LH Students Life Group Leader

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Running Cross Country and Track: starting that my freshmen year of high school really shaped the kind of person I became.. it was a good environment of people that were down to earth, mainly Christians, and just liked to have a good time running together.. running was a very positive thing in my life, I loved my coaches in high school.. now I still run in college (way less motivated but still enjoy my team and coach)

living in AZ for two years right before high school.. this was not positive spiritually because everyone there was either Catholic or Mormon BUT I did get to live in a different culture for awhile.. this just kind of expanded my views and experiences.. I still talk to my friend from there almost on a daily basis.. we plan to visit each other soon

being in a D-group my senior year of high school with Mrs. Brooke, Savannah, and Katherine.. this really kinda shaped my life because I grew deeper spiritually, gained a better knowledge of my faith, prepared myself for college, had accountability..

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

for awhile my family stopped attending church.. very recently my mom’s job has allowed her to have Sundays off so for the past month my family has been coming to church but beforehand that was always a sensitive subject.. I was just mad that my life was so involved in church and they weren’t experiencing that with me.. there has recently been a total change like I said and they have been coming to church and my mom has even started reading the NT F260..

I dated this guy off and on throughout high school and into the beginning of college.. sort of play “married” in my mind.. the whole time I knew we were on different pages spiritually but that didn’t really stop me until deeper into the relationship.. I ended up praying for a wake up call.. we broke up, he made some bad decisions.. I was able to see how God was faithful in that situation and brought me out of it before things went further..

I went to Cumberland University for my first semester of college on a XC and track scholarship.. my team and coach were not who I thought they were.. that was an extremely draining part of of my life.. I was in such a negative environment and felt really lonely.. spiritually dry.. there were some good times there but overall I stuck out like a sore thumb because I was so opposite from the team.. I decided to transfer and God completely delivered me from that place.. I now get to go to a Christian school, attend my home church, and have great community.. God blessed the transition and was faithful with finances.. my family.. friends.. church..
