S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Ellen Tucker for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (93%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I enjoy loving others, am fairly honest about my own struggle with sin and I know well where my salvation is! But why this gift? Because standing firm in Truth, humble and honest about our inability to do so without the Holy Spirit and sharing the gift of Salvation thru Christ is valuable Kingdom work.

#2 Gift, Teaching (75%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Love teaching, thinking deeply on Truth, especially in a small group. But why this gift? Because I am created to be curious, to think aloud, to dig deep and to cling to Truth – and absolutely love sharing this with others.

#3 Gift, Administration (71%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I think I am an odd administrator – and yet it is often my role. I see and can cast the vision and big picture, but also the steps or elements that need to be in place in order to accomplish this – however, I do not think I am particularly detail oriented. I like to be visible and acknowledged, but often find myself in a helper/hidden role. So why this gift? To keep me humble, to understand the Lord of my life and act accordingly. It is my gift, I am appreciated – it is not about me.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Leading small groups in deep and meaningful discussion.

2. Creating a framework for success.

3. Developing relationships that allow me to be a part of someone’s personal growth or healing.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Hmm. I “need” all age groups in my life, so enjoy a broad range of people. In this season, I am particularly enjoying young women – 20’s and 30’s.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

How do we build community, bridge the chasm that is our society today? What active role do we as believers have in this? WHO needs to be brought to the table? HOW can we best reach them? What metrics are we using to determine success, after defining success?
And how do we support one another as we reach out into the world?

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

My parents divorced when I was twelve. I met Jesus in the confirmation class at our little Episcopal church that year and accepted Him as my savior. The reality of that grew over time, despite some rather wild years during my teens and young adulthood. It was in my early 20’s that I began to live my life differently – and He continues to bring me closer to Him! What a joy it is to live this miracle.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Celebrate Recovery Small Group Leader and Sponsor –
Austin Ridge Bible Church
Austin TX
2009-2011 (I think)

Austin Ridge Bible Church
Nursery worker and substitute Sunday School teacher
2003-2013

Women’s Ministry Mentor Program participant – both Mentor and Mentee
ARBC
2011-2015

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Marriage and children – grounded me and made Christ more “real” and the focus of my life

Bible study – especially my first real study “A Heart Like His” by Beth Moore. Broken, really imperfect man shown as an example for us

Celebrate Recovery – facing truths, owning my own sin and making amends.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Parent’s divorce – broken families do a lot of damage. This is hard on everyone involved and leads to lifelong consequences. Also a wonderful time to love them well…

Wild youth – actions that have scarred me and sometimes those around me. I really understand what people are going thru when dealing with these issues, the need to fully accept the forgiveness and live in Truth.
