Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up in the church. My grandparents are pastors in Ward 8 of DC. I spent 7 of 7 days a week at church

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Living Word Church, Washington, DC (20+ years)
AV, Usher, Dance, Praise and Worship, Children’s Church, Summer Camp, Outreach

Zion Landover – I helped with a Holiday production event as a greeter and organizing the lines to take tickets

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Outreach- working with at-risk youth doing an after school tutoring program I had a twin in my group name Faith and I went to my high school senior trip- when I got of the plane I had a voicemail that said Faith had passed away in a car accident but she had her bible with her and that changed my view forever– I knew kids had the ability to believe early and I knew it was possible to change future circumstances

Sisterhood Program- Working at the YMCA I was the EA to the Director of the program. I expressed my interest in working with kids and she gave me a program with a middle school where I worked with 6-8 graders for 30 minutes 3 times a week and in the small time period those kids just loved it and I realized it made me happy- I got to fulfill my admin duties AND work with kids is my DREAM JOB! especially at-risk youth, because how can they be expected to know 1+1 if they don’t even know if they will eat that night- sometimes they just need someone to be heard

Dixon Group – my first internship and job out of college. I organized Chrisette Michelle and Raheem DeVaughn’s 30 city tour and a big conference for OJJDP on youth leadership. This job was the start of my career and I have been trying to get back to this feeling ever since. I love kids, planning, and organization any combo of those things take me to my happy place šŸ™‚

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

I recently went to jail for failure to return a rental car (yea its dumb) but I was in jail for 8 days and I knew God was trying to get my attention. I had been falling off my responsibility and spiraling out of control and not taking care of business so I snapped out of it and got back on top of my “Things to Do” list. I have moments when I get angry at the situation but I just pray and thank God for my perspective and move forward as best as I can

I lived in my car with my deaf son for 6 months in 2014. I joined Zion and got a job and worked very hard to move forward. I know live in one of the “heights” lol but I am not in my car and I am thankful. My experience taught me budgeting, faith, and perseverance. If someone says no then move to the next one.

I lost my biological father (who I never met) to suicide when I was 6 but didn’t learn of him until I was 18. I grew up thinking another man was my father but he was never around either. I go to therapy bc it is important to take care of self and keep your eyes on what is important. I think my story can be used as an inspiration to others to say just keep going and it does get better! I am not great yet but I can feel it! It will happen!
