S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Erin St. Germain for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Serving (84%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I find satisfaction in helping others to be successful. I don’t want to be the center of attention, but I like contributing to the “big picture”.

#2 Gift, Giving (56%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I would rather enable someone else to utilize their gifts. Again, leading back to not wanting to be the center of attention.

#3 Gift, Mercy Showing (46%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have had many opportunities in my life where I have needed to show mercy. I still find it difficult when it is something that affects me personally, but I am still able to show mercy. My heart hurts for people that are hurting.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Guiding my children and watching them grow up and experience life.

2. Being a part of a team and doing my small part in making a difference…helping someone or something find success.

3. Being someone that others can depend on (i.e. physically taking care of something so someone else doesn’t have to even think about it, or being a constant in the life of someone that just needs an ear and some understanding).

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

don’t know that I have a favorite, I’m just more of 1-on-1 person rather than a group person

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Not sure? All I know is that I am not much of a group speaker. I don’t like being put on the spot to discuss something, I am not an eloquent speaker or persuasive person.

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up always going to church, so it never really crossed my mind to not be a Christian. Throughout college and some years afterward, I did not continue to grow in my relationship with Christ. After having my son, I found a wonderful church to attend and I began to grow again, and have clung to my faith since as I have dealt with and am dealing with a very difficult situation.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

I have not officially served in any capacity since I was young. In the church I grew up in, I was a member of a puppeteering group where we performed in the surrounding communities spreading God’s word.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

I played college basketball, and I really learned the meaning of teamwork and sacrificing for the greater good.

I worked for an amazing woman that taught me the importance of doing the little things exceptionally, and she made a point to recognize you for the little things. I appreciated it so much, and in turn, learned to recognize the little things people do for me.

Growing up in the family that I did. I learned how to love others and show compassion.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Finding the courage to leave an unhealthy situation in my marriage. It still breaks my heart, but I know the decisions I’ve made thus far are necessary for the happiness and well-being of both the kids and me. I now understand far more than I ever did how women struggle to leave (and stay away from) bad/toxic/dangerous relationships, and how difficult and scary it is to start over.

This is the only example I can think of. Everything else negative in my life seems so trivial…

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. be generous with money and time with ministries for women and children

4. volunteer to help with special projects within the church
