S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Erika Mahaney for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. I’m surprised at this one. I don’t necessarily like to teach. I do like to have conversations and discussions about the Bible and theology. I love to learn.

#3 Gift, Administration (65%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
My everyday life is all about organization, details, and planning. It comes natural to me. It makes things simpler for my home and my family and I get much joy out of it.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Watching my children become the people that God has designed them to be.

2. Making a house a home. We have moved so often and I find much joy in making each house a safe, warm, and happy home that is suited for each member in our family.

3. Supporting my husband in his achievements and successes.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I like working with Veterans and those that are coping with tragedies that were beyond their control. I also like to help and come along side young mothers.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I’m excited when a Pastor asks the congregation to open their Bible and dig deep into scripture (during the church service). I get excited about the leaders of the Church preaching the difficult truths without hesitation. I love it when leadership equips the church to take on the darkness of the world.

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up in an Episcopal church and believed there was a God but I didn’t realize how deprived I was until I moved to Oklahoma and the Gospel was preached to me in a totally different way. As I listened, learned, and opened my heart, God showed me that what I needed (and didn’t have) was a relationship with Christ. That it was supposed to be me on that cross and He took my place! I was baptized on August 10, 2010!

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

I have served at First Baptist Church in Newcastle, Oklahoma where I was involved in mission work and helped in the local MOPS group. That was from 2010 to 2014. Our family then moved to Burlington, Vermont where we helped a local church plant (Burlington City Church) get on its feet in a very “unchurched” part of the region. That was from 2014 to 2017. Served with my husband in Guyana on a 12 day mission trip. Served with my daughter in South Africa on a 10 day mission trip.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Getting married as a sinner to a sinner and both of us being born again!

Having children

Serving in the United States Air Force

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My mothers struggle with HEP C, liver transplant, and traumatic brain injury.

My fathers alcoholism and drug addiction that lead to his early death.

My miscarriage

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. To live simply. To find a remote (unspoiled by the world) space/land that we could take in children and their mothers. To teach and to love on so that they can learn to live their lives successfully through Christ.

4. To build, cultivate, and maintain a large garden on our small property to help feed those that are hungry in Warrenton and those that want to by products within their community.

5.
