S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Ethan Garrett Held for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Evangelism (100%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Christ chose me at my lowest, dirtiest, most despicable place and time, and no one can make me feel more shame for loving Him than what I felt living without Him

#2 Gift, Teaching (96%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I grew up in a Christian school and culture, and now have the prodigal son experience to go with that knowledge

#3 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (90%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Life is a dark experience sometimes but God is always right there to carry anyone through who cries out to Him

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. the arts – all forms of expression speak to me, whether music, film, or classic forms such as painting and writing

2. philosophy and psychology – theres nothing I love more in another person than a curious, inquisitive mind about life, meaning, and the universe. While I do not understand everything, I am ecstatic to have these conversations

3. People’s identity – I wholeheartedly believe that one’s identity is everything, what culture, time period, or dogma you root yourself in, and if you can lead people to rooting their identity in Christ’s sacrifice, then a major foundation has been laid.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

The downtrodden and forgotten, the drug addicts and prostitutes, the homeless and criminals. All who society would condemn to death and see as unworthy or lesser than

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Community outreach – I would rather help shut ins and work food pantries than collect usher plates or set up chairs.

[A]bilities

My current vocation:

Day laborer, yard work, delivery driving, uber, etc. “odd and end” jobs

Other jobs I have experience in:

customer service, telemarketing, sales, construction, landscaping, money handling, physical labor such as moving or hoarder cleaning

Special talents/skills that I have:

Verbal/communicative skills, humor, sharp wit
Being deeply emotionally impacted by tragedy, not being calloused or cold hearted to world events
Perception, catching non verbal communications of social interactions, reading “between the lines” and hearing what people are actually saying

I have taught a class or seminar on:

formally, nothing. But I am often regarded as my group of friend’s therapist for emotionally impactful events or a sounding board for ideas and how to proceed through scenarios

I feel my most valuable personal asset is:

My loyalty. If I say I love you and am committed to you, that genuinely does mean I will do whatever I can for said person.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up in christian culture, and was treated as a black sheep and a bastard, I hated the religious elite and classists in the church, I despised authority. After living how I saw fit and ruining my own life, I submitted to Christ’s authority over my life and allow Him to lead me as He determines.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Outreach programs – feeding the homeless, construction for shut ins and schools, acts of community service

Group outings – hiking or camping trips with other believers to experience the goodness of Gods world and His Word.

Manual labor such as helping church flea markets, hoarder cleaning, furniture moving, etc.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Quitting drugs and alcohol

Stop having premarital sex and pornography

Inviting other believers into my inner circle

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

drug addiction

heartbreak, breakups, being cheated on, relational gossip and slander, division within social circles amongst those who were close

Being the child of a single mother, growing up poor or inner city, feeling or existing in the state of complete lack of purpose, direction, or meaning

  • Everyone Else After those

3. A musician – crafting my experiences into a beautiful testimony

4. Philanthropy – being an angel investor

5. A nomad – moving freely where God would have me for that time
