Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love to read. It is a joy to escape and experience a good novel. I have a vivid imagination. I see pictures.

2. I love nature. To hear the birds, see butterflies going by is a sheer joy. To be at the beach and enjoy looking out at the expanse of the sky is so peaceful and really enjoyable for me.

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

My experience started around 15 years of age due to the environment I was introduced to. My household was religious, believing in God. However we did not go to church as a family. Nonetheless, being the last one my mother would have me go to Sunday school with my neighbour most Sundays.

I can remember walking through the neighbourhood, asking questions that no adult could answer at the time: what am I here for? And, God are you real? So back to age 15, my Mom enrolled me in Girls Guide in The Salvation Army where I would attend one evening per week after school. It instilled discipline and dutiful civics in me. The Girl Guide was attached to a corps (church) called Kingston Central. The superintendent invited us all to the corps and I spoke with my mom and she figured it was church so no harm would be in that.
I attended a few times on Sunday mornings and then was invited to the Youth Arm of the church. I went and met some of the most unique and kind set of teenagers. Most of us are still friends to this day.

From Youth Group, I got involved with acting, timbrel, praise and worship along with Sunday school. The Word through activities and preaching was acting as a hammer though. After each Sunday service there would be an alter call.
Whenever it would get to that point I would feel prompted but fought to stay in my seat. My heart got tired of the massive pounding and I rose one Sunday morning, went to the alter and gave my life to Jesus Christ. I was 17 years by this.

I started reading the Bible ferociously and saw the instruction of baptism. I asked the officer (pastor) in charge at the time and I was told they do not baptize there. I further asked about the Holy Spirit and never got a complete answer. I kept on seeking though and was filled in a little prayer room at the back of the compound. Eventually, I left the Salvation Army as I needed the fullness of the Word and so went to Word of Life.

My walk has carried me through several church paths such as Word of Life and Trinity Moravian Christian Church. I have noted though that this is a journey that had to be walked and am pressing. The one thing that I am assured of is that Jesus Christ is my foundation and His grace is sufficient come what may. And in His hands I will remain.

Sunday School Teacher- Kingston Central Corps- Salvation Army, Trinity Moravian Church and Transformed Life Church

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

A sister and her family in the faith, took me in when I had no where to go and was feeling lost.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Physical deliverance from the spirit of fear and anxiety.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Going through mental breakdown enable me to have compassion on others.

Gone through a divorce makes me look at different perspectives. I listen more.
