S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Andrea for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
[E]xperience
I had gotten out of an unhealthy relationship and suffered anxiety as a side effect of the break up. I had lost touch with god and realized that I needed to go back, start over and get my life together.
Crossroad Christian Church, Dover/DE, Camera Operator Technical Director, 2
Going to an HBCU and Temple University. HBCU made me realize that black people come from different parts of the country and backgrounds. Temple University introduced me to different cultures…(Asian, Latinos, Europeans) made me appreciate differences and also realize the similarities we all have. Made me more open minded.
Going to therapy after a bad toxic relationship and discovering the true characteristics of my personality. How I operate and work and process information and how it translate to my emotional output. That makes me analyse situations with more logical understanding.
Getting over my fear of going to an aerobics class and not feeling embarrassed. Everyone is there to workout, not look around and judge. Made me have more courage.
That after a toxic relationship ended, I realize that I can love someone from a distance. I have a choice, there is always a way out. You don’t have to stay.
I had a roommate that for three years, we never got along. I tried to talk to her, do things, make acceptions and dismiss her behavior. Even after a long period of no speaking, she felt the same and I didn’t understand why. I realize that not matter how hard you try, no everyone is going to like you and that is ok.
Through multiple instances of me putting unrealistic expectations on other people when it comes to behavior, life choices etc that it is unfair for me to expect perfection.
