S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Gwen Muse-Evans for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. The love of my family and children (even extended community of children).

2. The outdoors – I love nature and am awed by God’s handiwork whenever I go for a long walk or spend time gardening.

3. Sing – I am uplifted when I sing praise and worship songs to God. I am humbled by the ability to bring joy and comfort to others with my music ministry.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I love to work with young people and older people. Young people are refreshing and it is wonderful to be able to see them develop and grow. Older people bring such wisdom and humor to any conversation. I learn from both groups.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Sometimes we get too busy “doing church” and having church functions instead of serving in the world and leading people to Christ.
Too often we still allow strong personalities and gossip to distract us from God’s work. We call ourselves a loving, caring and sharing church but I sometimes wonder if others call us that.

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was raised in the church. I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior at the age of 12. God has presented numerous opportunities to grow and minister to others as I’ve traveled across the US and abroad.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

MJBC – Music Ministry, 10 Years

Tabernacle Baptist Church, Music Ministry, 10 Years

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

My parents were strong role models. They both sang in the choir. We have a family music ministry where we minister music at family events.

God, and my faith, brought me a mighty long way through dark times with my divorce and being a single parent. I am amazed at the victories I can now look back on.

I have been blessed by many people who girded me up through a challenging corporate career. I am appreciative of all the support and look to continue to give back through my entrepreneurial endeavors.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

I have a strong passion for seeking solutions to prevent homelessness from having know people and family members who were homeless.

I experienced severe financial challenges when my marriage broke up. I am now dedicated to providing financial literacy education to help people develop good credit and money management skills.

As I moved to different locations and looked for a church home, I often experienced cases where people weren’t welcoming. I now go out of my way to introduce myself to new people and stay vigilant for anyone who seems dis-connected.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Do more financial literacy and home-buyer education courses at more venues

4. Expand my personal and family music ministry and focus on more ministry venues (or imparting scripture/the Word as a standard)

5. Strategically build the business to increase giving ability and create employment opportunities for young people
