#1 Gift, Evangelism (96%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Evangelism is all about hearing what God wants you to say and sharing it when He says to. And when He tells me to speak, I don’t care if it’s to one person or 100,000, I’m ready and willing to speak.

#2 Gift, Teaching (96%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Knowledge is power and God wants us to be strong in our fight against the Devil and all of his demons in this world. Those who know are equipped for the fight.

#3 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (90%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
We all need encouragement. Sometimes the best way to be encouraged is to encourage others.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Teaching. I love to teach people something they didn’t know before.

2. Getting people to see they are worth far more than they may think they are. I want people to learn not just for their own sake, but for what they will teach others.

3. Preaching or speaking about God and His Word. I feel most at peace and happiest when I can speak about what He has done for me and how He can do so much for others if we only follow Him and obey.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I don’t have a specific age group. I like working with people who are open to work with me and willing to work with others. I have an eclectic background, so I can follow whatever trail God sets before me.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Evangelistic and teaching opportunities always excite me. My biggest concerns are always dealing with people who put money first or have forgotten why we are here in the first place…to do God’s will.

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up as a Jehovah’s Witness which is God’s way of teaching me how to get up and speak and teach others. When I was 19 though, I had been away from God for a few years. God got me to a church where he finally got me to give myself over and give it all to Him. And I realized that He wanted so much more from me. And I still look forward to doing so much more for Him today.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Alamo Heights Baptist Church, Midland, TX, Sunday school teacher and pastoral support for a year

Homeless missions in New Orleans, LA

I’ve occasionally been given the opportunity to speak and give sermons at several churches over the years.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

This one is both positive and negative. My father was arrested in our home when I was 8 years old. He was incarcerated for 2 years while my mother had to work multiple jobs. I was the oldest of 4 who had to learn how to lead my family and keep us together and cared for. It made me who I am.

Being the first to graduate not only from High School, but Junior College, and eventually University.

The first time I prayed with a lady in the middle of a store because I knew it was what God wanted me to do.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

The situation With my father I listed before.

Accepting that I am an alcoholic and realizing what I had done to my family for years.

Divorcing my wife who had cheated on me and never supported the belief that God called me to preach and teach.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. To lead a crusade like Billy Graham did. To teach people around the world that God loves them and wants their love. To travel and have old-time tent revival so wherever God says pitch a tent. That would be my biggest God-sized dream.

4. I would like to open a homelessness shelter/halfway house for families who have suffered from alcohol and drug addictions. Give them a place to learn and know God’s love and His purpose for their lives.

5. Can’t think of much more after those first two. But, if I still had time, spend the rest of my days teaching. I teach science because I believe it helps me appreciate how awesome God is and I enjoy sharing that with people of all ages.
