S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Hannah Davis for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. #1 Gift, Pastoring/Shepherding (93%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have not thought about this gift for myself. I am a ministry student at IWU and I have never felt a passion to preach, but I have always felt the drive to pastor, guide, comfort, and counsel those members of the congregation that need encouragement and guidance in their walk.

#2 Gift, Administration (90%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Administration has always been something that I have been willing and able to do – and God has used that in incredible ways to help the kingdom. Most jobs I have worked in the past have had some component of administration and I thoroughly enjoy working through the details that need to be taken care of from behind the scenes.

#3 Gift, Serving (90%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have always had a passion for helping others – especially helping leaders in the church and allowing their job to run as smoothly as possible. I have a very willing spirit for this and typically am able to see where a need may be so that I can just in and serve.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. – Behind the scenes administration and serving to make a large ministry event or program run smoothly.

2. – Mentoring, guiding, and providing spiritual accountability to my friends.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

People who find themselves spiritually stagnant.
Specific groups are: College Students, High School Students, Women’s ministry

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Spiritual laziness – lack of personal devotion, lack of engagement with the church outside of Sunday service

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up in a Christian home, believing that God existed as of 8 years old but not actually following Him, wholeheartedlly til I was 17. I decided to actually ‘follow’ Christ after a brain injury wrecked by life and forced me to wrestle with my identity and purpose.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Montrose Bible Conference
Ministry Assitant
Montrose, PA

Evangelical Free Church of Montrose
Ministry Assistant
Montrose, PA

The River Church
Volunteer on and off for 3+ years
Marion, IN

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Brain Injury – Learning to place identity in Christ

Moving Away from Home – Independance and development of individualistic faith

Many different ministry opportunities in different fields – Camp Ministry, Church Ministry, Non-for-Profit, Parachurch – All showing my how diverse Kingdom work is. Exposure to many differet denominations growing up also was a positive experience in seeing how denominiation should work together.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Lack of discipleship in my church in high school – As I was going through physical health problems, the church did not check up on my spiritual health and therefore I walked away from the church.

Brain Injury – Physical injury but drew my close to God

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Academia – studying in school, applying for grad school, learning as much about God and scripture as possible

4. Mentoring/Discipling – more than just caring for my relationships I would wish to go above and beyond and truly CARE for people.

5. God-Sized Dream of caring for those that are spiritually burnt out by creating a retreat center that is designated for those in ministry.
