Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.
Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
[E]xperience
Grew up in a strong Christian family. I accepted Christ at age 12 and was baptized in a Baptist church. Grew spiritually in young couple Bible study and small group studies to this day.
Overbrook Baptist Church, Greenville, SC Children’s ministry, directed VBS, young couples Bible study. 1992-@1997, also home church I grew up in.
First Baptist Church of Norfolk Va., administrative assistant to pastors, produced church newsletter and other publications, young couple Bible study. 1982-85
Augusta Road Baptist Church, Greenville, SC Adult Sunday School Leaders. 1988-1992
First Baptist Church of Columbia, SC Leader in College department, Summer Bible studies. College years
Southside Fellowship, Greenville, SC High School Girls Sunday School and Discipleship leader, prior to moving her 10 years ago
Brookwood Church, Greenville, SC (not member) Small group leader in large women’s Bible study, prior to moving here
Surfside Presbyterian Church, Surfside, SC Small group Bible study, First Impressions committee, designed publication for new members/visitors, Adult Bible Study leader. Most recently, last 8 years
Marriage- learning to keep Christ at the center through all aspects, becoming less selfish
Parenthood- giving and sacrifice for good of children
Parents – watching them grow and lead in the family and at church, sacrificing for family and for others. Dad was job placement officer with prison system and probation officer and mother was school social worker for 30+ years
Dealing with depression in myself and with family members
Husband’s personal and job crisis resulting from dysfunctional, alcoholic parents.
Watching him grow through the process.
Serious health issues in family: oldest daughter Amy having a stroke at age 18 and another after the birth of her first child while her husband was deployed to Korea and Amy was living in MI, husband’s 2 seizures and having to drive him to work (and on call) for 6 months each time, father’s heart issues and early retirement at 57 right after we moved to Greenville where Doug began practice and his resulting depression issues, mother’s complications following gall bladder surgery resulting in 3 months intensive care, months of rehab and moving she and my dad (she was his caretaker) from 30 year home to retirement apartment, miscarriages and resulting fertility issues and subsequent adoption of 2nd daughter, 2nd daughter’s issues including 2 suicide attempts, unplanned pregnancy and adoption of her child. Whew! Sometimes I can believe it myself. But lots of empathy for lots of people going through crisis!
