[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Experience small, sacred, authentic people circles where we an be real, honest and inspired.

2. Ride my Harley all over the countryside.

3. Preach and teach the Word of God.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Women are drawn to me and thats just fine with me. I have heart for the 20s-30s – setting them up to move into their very best life prepared and skilled.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I think healthy, appropriate musical worship is critical. I think when you are going after the One, our music should be contemporary, hearable in others places; with a balance of songs that are gender relevant. In my opinion: you must have strong “male” power songs (“you split the sea so I could walk right through it…” my husband loves this song), if you want to build a strong male presence in the body.

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

The Roman Catholic Church of the 50s/60s was not a good fit for this ADHD child and left immediately after our wedding at a high noon Mass in 1973. At 25, I received devestating news and crawled sobbing into the local Catholic church. Mysteriously the weight of my burden was lifted. Hmmmm. Two years later, I was invited to attend church with a friend it turned out to be crazy Pentacostals, raising their hands, singing at the top of their lungs, hugging everyone. Ah, Jesus. I was baptized that day. My journey would take me to the care of a woman who discipled me through BSF; next level God experience with the Church of the Nazarene (1989) where the flame of the Holy Spirit was ignited into a raging fire. I was delivered from nicotine, the self anger I carried around to date was lifted, and He called me to full time ministry.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

St. Mary’s in Ukiah, CA – late 70s. I was a catechism teacher for fifth graders.

Church of the Nazarene in Folsom, CA – 1988-2000 I received thier Ministers License and serve as an assistant to the pastor. I lead worship, held small groups in our home, took ministerial courses through Nazarene Bible College in Colorado (103 units) at an extension site in Sacramento. They ended up pulling their accredidation at the extension so shy of one class – I was unable to get my diploma. I did wake up one day with a disagreement with a doctrine which disqualified me so it all worked out in the end. I think. I did take away an incredible education.

Lakeside Church, Folsom, CA We attended here from 2001 – 2015, when we moved to Arizona. I was part of the worship team, spoke at womens events, taught discipleship classes and served in various capacities when invited to help.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Being raised with an awareness of God. I turned to Him in time of trouble.

Being sanctified or set apart/touched by God early in my life (in the little Catholic church) without realizing it was Him.

Facing my issue with alcohol and all the painful stuff that underlies its abuse. This was in 1988 and 31 years later, I continue to live free.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My life has been marked by generational alcoholism. Life in our home with a nurturing attendive mother combined with a hard working but angry father, created a kind of haze over our upbring. My parents were quite functional and successful so it was confusing. The recent death of my father was facilitated by alcohol (so weird since until he was in his mid-80s I had NEVER seen him drunk). The generational curse was taken out by my spirit-driven sobriety and my two adult children live clean and sober today as well. Miracles.

In the psychoanalysis of the flesh one could say that I am was a shame based person. This caused me to hide my true self from others. Once my identity as a child of God was worked out, I have lived victoriously and authentically – free. Shame is a killer!

Bullying. I hate bullying or the victimization of other human beings based on the ability to intimidate through fear mongering and physical largess. I was once vicimized by a gang of girls who sought to assault me but their plan was poorly planned and I came out with just a few scrapes. I became a target because I interfered with their bullying of a classmate.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. I dream of the existence of a life skills facility (community center) where people from everywhere could be discipled and coached into accomplishing their own goals and dreams.

4. Serving my church authentically, using my gifting to build others.

5. Volunteering in the secular environment where Jesus in me goes out to meet others. I am a CASA for the State of Arizona so I have app for this!
