S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Carra for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Teaching (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
the Lord has placed on my heart a desire to learn more, and therefore has given me many opportunities to learn. I suppose the knowledge I have is not mine to keep, but rather share.

#2 Gift, Evangelism (71%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I honestly have no idea where this one comes from because approaching non-believers scares me, though I have been told I relate very well with a wide variety of people so I think that is an avenue in which the Lord can work.

#3 Gift, Giving (71%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have been raised in a wealthy family and have seen the effects of money well spent. Many of my friends have not had the same amount of wealth that I was graciously blessed with growing up, and I think that has given me a perspective of wanting to give because I am in a position to be able to support others and still be financially responsible.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Learning new things in the scriptures that reveal more truth about God.

2. Spending time with people getting into the nitty gritty of life and the Bible.

3. Being a little crazy and laughing a lot.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

People who love to laugh, do not compromise truth for grace (and vice versa), and are active in encouraging brothers and sisters in the faith. Generally I would say I enjoy working with people the same age as me or older than me.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Living a life that does not represent the Lord’s name who you claim. Reading the Bible in context. Emotional purity.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Starting reading my grandma’s Bible a few years after she passed away and then was invited to youth group by a friend and met a woman who became a mentor and led me to Christ.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Atascadero Bible Church, Atascadero, CA, Youth group, 7 years

Christian Challenge campus ministry at Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS, Roots member/leader, 2 years

Zozu Project, Templeton, CA, traveled to Uganda, 1 year

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

My RA and best friend on my floor freshman year of college did a lot to help me realize my passiveness in my faith and helped me develop an urgency for the gospel as well as the what it means to study the Bible.

Summers spent at Hume Lake Christian camps.

Traveling to Uganda with Zozu Project and getting to meet the kids that my family sponsors through the organization.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

The death of multiple family members.

Father having cancer

Talking behind the back of a friend and having to ask for forgiveness.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. I would want to instill a desire in people to love God’s word.

4. I would live in Uganda with the kids from Solid Rock Christian School and support the organization both financially and service oriented.

5. I would invest heavily in a few young girls.
