S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Rachel Brahan for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I enjoy being in a supportive role. If someone is in need of assistance, I want to be able to take care of the little things to help them focus on the big things. I do my best to see a need and fill it.

Nothing I have belongs to me. So why wouldn’t I give it away?
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I try to see all angles of where someone is coming from and why they might be acting a certain way, etc. We all have things we are dealing with that aren’t always obvious. I try to make sure I am not quick to judge and open to listening and showing compassion.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.
Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility
[E]xperience
I grew up in a loving, Christian home and attended a Christian school growing up. I asked Jesus to be in my life at age 6 and was baptized. As a teen I decided to make choices that were completely opposite of what I claimed to believe. I continued to make ungodly choices as a young adult. I became pregnant and got married. I went through some very dark times and scary situations. I ended up getting divorced due to lack of mental and physical safety for me and Lilly. I am thankful God brought me into a job that provided godly influence & support and brought me out of a dark pit and back to loving and serving God. I met Bryan and we have been striving to get our lives to reflect the love of Jesus. We have lots of room to grow, but are very thankful God doesn’t give up on us!
Served in children’s church (2 and 5 year olds). Community Church in Chesapeake. Before we had our own small children at home 🙂
Led a small group in our home. This was fun! Central Baptist Church, Portsmouth
Helped with the new mom’s group we were starting up, Central Baptist Church, Portsmouth
Godly role models…who sometimes made mistakes but weren’t too prideful to be sure and apologize and make things right
Finally realizing the huge importance of getting connected and getting support from others who are seeking to be more like Christ as well.
Becoming a mother and how it brings to light things I need God to help me work on even more!
Living sinfully and the damage it causes that continues. But God shows how He can take it and redeem it.
Having someone betray me, but it gave me the opportunity to show forgiveness
just like I have been forgiven by Christ
Having a child with an incurable disease, God is still good and He is still in control.
