S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Deborah Haddock for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I’ve always believed in God and have always been inquisitive about spiritual things. I came to a more adult understanding of God at the age of 17 after reading “Evidence that Demands a Verdict”.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Christ Fellowship, San Antonio, Adult Education, 2 years

St. Mark’s UMC, El Paso, TX, adult education, preaching, SPRC, approx. 5 years

Faith Church of Glory, Lakeville, MN, adult education 10+ years, adult education, preaching, children’s church

I started serving in churches as a teen, when I became the teen rep for the church board and my husband and I were church planters for many years

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Encouragement from my father and grandmother

Recognition and encouragement from others for leadership qualities

Writing, since childhood, and eventually being published

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Addiction and mental health issues in my family

My grandparents being killed by a drunk driver

Being hospitalized for depression at the age of 16
