Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was blessed with diabetes when I was 15 yrs. old. after having troubles at birth. God has carried me through this life of trial and errors and has provided me everything I needed to survive this life. He allowed me to do things other diabetics weren’t allowed to do and is still providing for me. Things don’t come on a silver platter but He gave me the ability to stand up for myself and the things I need to survive this life. I was suppose to be dead by the age of 30 yrs. but He has kept me alive twice that long. God has been my rock and mainstay.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

First Christian Church- Knoxville, Iowa- Church Board Secretary, Deaconess Chairman, Vacation Bible School Director, Sunday School Superintendent, Children’s Church Director, and member/attendee- 10 years. Also was involved with Boy Scouts for 9 years and became Assistant District Commissioner. As Janice De Joode.

First Church of the Nazarene- Knoxville, Iowa- choir member, drama plays, Women’s Circle, some secretarial work and teen quizzing.-6 yrs. known as Janice De Joode then.

Open Bible Church-Pella, Iowa- church secretary and sound systems/words on Sunday Morning- some janitorial- 2012-2013- when I moved to Oskaloosa. Janice Cobler here.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Was born premature- but God kept me alive.

At 15 yrs. old went into a coma for a week and almost died- doctors gave up on me but God kept me alive with no memory loss and is still supplying me the equipment I need to live yet today.

God blessed me with wonderful Christian parents that brought me up knowing Him.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

I married in 1977 a man involved with church and that marriage went bad after 22 years of abuse and trying to kill me.

I married in 2005 to another man who proclaimed to be a Christian but was also very abusive and a military man.

When I was in my early 20’s my father passed away in 1978, my brother passed away in 1979 and my mother passed away in 1981 making me realize life is too short- just a vapor in the wind.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. To help those divorced, homeless, famliless to realize that they are important in God’s eyes and that He loves them. Just because bad things happened in their lives that they aren’t bad people and important to God.

4. Start a food selter that people could come to every week and get the essentials they need to live without going hungry. Also have a clothes bank where the low-income and homeless could get things free- NO ONE should want for the essentials of life.

5. At Thanksgiving and Christmas fix a dinner for the people with no family, low income and homeless could come to eat and have family and a good meal (and memories to last the rest of their life) showing them people do care and God cares.
