S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Glenda McKay for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I believe it is our responsibility to tell the good news of Christ. we were undeserving of his sacrifice, His Grace. Having a personal relationship makes me want to tell others what He has done for me and what He can do for them.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I’m not that good at teaching but I have a passion to lead and help others learn how to apply God’s word to their life. I do a lot of bible study myself and believe we as disciples have the responsibility to share what the Lord has given us.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
This is something I feel I’m really good at. I was once told I probably could run the Pentagon. I probably could if only the chance was given me. My family says it’s because I’m bossy. When you have run a business as long as I did, the ability is built in.
[H]eart
1. Study God’s word in the quiet of the morning.
2. Spend time with like minded people sharing love, laughter and food.
3. Spending quality time with my family, (husband, kids and grandkids.
At this point in my life I tend to love being with the older people. I find there is so much wisdom there and it is slipping away from us everyday.
Building God’s kingdom, it is not time to stop and smell the roses when the roses need pruning and replanting in some cases. They need continuous care! I haven’t found in God’s word where we retire from His work. There has been time when I felt I needed to slow down and regroup, but never quit.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
[E]xperience
I was 9 years old and a member of GA’s. I had been in SS since I was old enough to be dropped off and be there waiting to be pick up. My GA teacher shared Christ with me and immediately I felt a tugging at my heart. It’s wasn’t a week later that I understood what it was all about. I accepted Christ and a week later was baptized. I never looked back I didn’t live a perfect life, but I did understand what Jesus did and was continuing to do in my life. There has been some real valleys but I know who can move the mountains.
Youth SS teacher at First Baptist in Corrigan Texas
WMU Director at First Baptist Corrigan Texas for years
Taught SS here at North Orange about 5 or 6 years ago.
Marrying Jim and having a family.
I would have to say going to Rome, Italy and standing there just a few feet from where the Apostle Paul was chained. The reality of what took place there, not just in Rome but that whole part of the world. Knowing that where I was standing ,Christians were burned at the stake to light the Roman Forum for Nero’s pleasure.
When my grandkids were born, the reality and responsibility I felt and the blessings that it would bring, seeing each of them come to know Christ.
Divorce of my parents when I was 16.
Complete nervous breakdown at 36.
Job change for Jim at 47 and having to move and start over.
