S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Jeff Chaisson for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. #1 Gift, Evangelism (96%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
God has rescued me in what I believe an extreme manner. He has also provided for me supernaturally and I have been apart of seeing others provided for supernaturally. I also have a passion for reading The Word. Put all of these together and I have a passion in sharing with others.

#2 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (87%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
It seems like all my life I have been someone that people have sought me for advice or encouragement. I believe I listen well. I also have seen and done a lot that helps me relate to others.

#3 Gift, Teaching (81%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Learning and applying is another passion of mine. I love arguing the case for Christ or discipling disciples. I believe this is a relatively newer gift that I am very passionate about.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Spending time with my family. Whether it is going out to eat, riding in the car or at the beach. God has provided me my family and I enjoy the time (quality not quantity).

2. Landscaping/hardscaping and home projects. Although this can also be a stressor when they are bigger projects and I don’t have as much money or time as I would like to commit to, I still can say I do love the satisfaction of seeing results of labor.

3. Crossfit!

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I do love the unchurch or de-churched male population. And also teaching or leading volunteers and mentors at the Rescue Station.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Reaching more families in ministry excites me. Concerns… Not sure.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was once a substance user, dating various women, non-believer… Non believer that would debate (if given the chance) why following Jesus was ridiculous. God slowly worked in my life cleaning up my substance use, even though I didn’t believe in him. I went to a church service reluctantly as I was chasing another woman. His Spirit moved me in that service. Then within 8 years I was led to Salty Church, grew in my belief. Met my wife to be, was baptized, started a ministry and now adopting my daughter.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Salty is the only church I have ever known.
Salty Church Ormond Beach, FL
Director of Salty Family Services.
6 years (SFS-4 and C4-2)

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Accepting Jesus

Marriage

Adoption

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Sexually Abused

Arrested 6 times for drugs and alcohol

My father dying when I was 19 of cancer

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Growing SFS and reaching families beyond Volusia and Flagler Counties. Beyond FL. Growing the ministry and raising up leaders to take over the daily operations.

4. To travel the country with my wife and planting SFS ministries throughout the country.

5. To be able to travel and share my testimony for the purpose of leading other non-believers to Jesus.
