This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:

Issues in the church don’t excite me, the stress me out because there is usually conflict between one another. When Cru talks about doing service trips I get really excited.

Alcoholism
Marriage/family issues
[A]bilities
Full time student
Working in retail, costumer service, working on a farm, working at a summer camp.
To sense when someone is hurting and putting myself in their shoes to really understand where they are coming from. Weeping with those who are weeping.
I’ve taught a bible study on a book called a lady in waiting. But I did that with my friend and she did a lot of the talking to the group. I don’t really enjoy teaching from upfront.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
[E]xperience
My mom is a believer, my dad believes there is a God but doesn’t have a relationship with Him. I really started my relationship with Christ in maybe around my Junior year of High school and once I decided to go to a university, that’s where I was really able to strengthen my faith.
I’ve done my trip to Africa through VisionTrust and I’m going back this summer with the same group. I’m involved with the campus ministry called Cru. I’m on student leadership and have been for about 4 years.
Going to Africa
My niece being born
Going to University
My dad cheating on my mom twice, and being on the verge of divorce. I never thought I would go through that but I feel like it’s happened so that I can 1) see how God is working this for the better and trusting in Him and knowing everything is going to be alright for the most part. And 2) being able to really be there for someone if they are ever going through that same thing and being able to process with them and start to point the back to Christ in the midst of all their emotions and confusion.
So far, not ever being in a relationship and feeling like I may never get married. But in this I know that I have more of an ability to connect with others.
Changes in general and going through many, many different storms.
Wrapping It Up
The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?
1. My Relationship with GOD
2. My Relationship with Others
- Putting Your Spouse First
- Your Kids Second
- Everyone Else After those
3. To live in Africa for however long God wants me to be there.
4. Focus on taking care of my health and relationship with others
5. Put together a team, or just myself, and go around the world and trying to be a good steward of the earth and the creatures living on it.
