S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Jen for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. #1 Gift, Giving (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I know what it’s like to be poor (for the states) and I also know what it’s like to have plenty. I can see benefits and joy in both examples of finances. After my pastor in college challenged me to tithe, and nothing bad happened, actually good happened, I feel no need to hold on to the things that God has given me anyway. The biggest benefit to having plenty is to be able to share more of it.

#2 Gift, Teaching (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I really enjoy learning things about God and when I’m excited about something I like to share it. I also think God has given me the ability to analyze and create narratives as a means of teaching.

#3 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (68%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I know deeply how it feels to be ignored, hopeless, and desperate. I do not want anyone to feel that way because it is awful. If I can help someone to feel less ignored and/or hopeless, I try my best to do that. It is a prayer of mine often that He will reveal who he wants me to help in each day. It brings me much joy to create positive change.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up hearing the word of God from infancy. So naturally I learned much about God and his church from that moment on. In most of high school and college, I did my own thing, myself being my lord. It wasn’t until I got to rock bottom and received a full ride scholarship to a college-aged Christian conference in Atlanta, Ga. There I was placed with two roommates for the duration of the week that loved God, loved others, and were cool to be around. I noticed how far I had wondered away from the church when none of the conference songs were familiar. There God got a hold of me and I couldn’t deny him anymore. I had to surrender to his overwhelming love and grace for me. He is such a gentleman to woo me and wait for me to be ready for Him. Right away, God started to teach me literally about the concept of humility. 🙂 LOL

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Youth Music ministry
Idabel Trinity Baptist, Idabel OK, 3 years
Served as the only youth committee member for the board of Wilderness property (property used for the church’s events/camps and other local churches rented as well) 1 year

Greeter, Usher, “Today I decided” person, bible group leader, helped setup/art projects At The Movies summer series lobby overhaul, Nursery worker.
Lifechurch.tv Stillwater, OK; Lifechurch.tv Broken Arrow, Ok; Lifechurch.tv Tulsa, OK
Varied amounts, but mostly did greeting/ushing about 8 years over all at 3 campuses.

Music ministry, greeting
Mosaic SouthBay Campus greater LA area
less than 1 year

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Having a great christian mentor in middle school and another christian mentor when I was 22-26 yo

Being invited to the college conference Passion in ATL, GA

Singing with Walk Church and learning much from that environment, varying music directors, and band members

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Being bullied as a kid from peers and teachers

Rape & PTSD (grades plummeted, out of control behavior, Mom called me a failure).

Differing struggles in my faith whether it be bible comprehension, purpose, or going through faith stretches after a death
