S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Jermaine McNeil for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
The Great Commission is very heart of a true disciple of Jesus Christ. Before we can empower people, and help them grow, we first must give them Jesus. He is the hope of the world. To not share Jesus is the equivalent of having a life saving antidote that have saved me, but not being willing to share it with others. This is why I am passionate about evangelism.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Caring, guiding, and teaching others is my heartbeat. I know that God has called me to help lead others in their journey of faith.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I believe that “good church” is more than just passion and preaching, but is also due to great administration. My passion for administration is in providing the best possible environment, programs, and structures for believers to grow in their spiritual journey.
[H]eart
1. Spending time with family is extremely important to me. Traveling with my wife, and getting to play and teach my son fulfills me everyday. This is one area I refuse to fail in.
2. I strong enjoy preaching and teaching the Word of God. There is no greater humbling task than to be able to help people find Jesus and grow in their spiritual walk through teaching. This includes using props, pictures, illustrations, and anything else that will help to clearly communicate the hope, promises, and disciplines of the scriptures.
3. I also enjoy recruiting, developing, and coaching leaders. The greatest legacy is not what we currently do, but if we are able to duplicate ourselves for greater impact.
I love to work with urban and suburban families, aged 25-45. These are the people I tend to have the most influence over. I like working with a mix middle class families as those below the poverty line.
I am concerned with children and adults who are part of single parent homes, and people who are members, but not necessarily planted and engaged in a church. As a former youth pastor, I get very excited about youth and young adults, prison ministry, as well as men’s and family small groups.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.
Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility
[E]xperience
I grew up as a Jehovah’s Witness. A classmate passed away, which led me to attend her funeral at a church. It was my first time hearing the gospel. I accepted Christ, and was discipled by fellow students at school. I was not allowed to attend church until I was 18, from where I continued my spiritual journey.
Connection Church, Lead Pastor 2017-2018
United States Military, Religious Affairs Specialist 2013-2017
Cathedral of Life, Church Planter/Lead Pastor, 2010-2013
First Refuge Church, Student Ministries Pastor, 2007-2010
Reconnecting with my mother was one of the biggest moments. We were estranged growing up.
Traveling oversea’s, and seeing how much worse poverty is for some foreign nations or provinces.
Becoming a father. I understood love on a greater level once my wife bore our son.
Being divorced before had a profound effect on my life. Although I divorced biblically (my former spouse committed adultery), I learned from my own mistakes, of how I may have driven her away being a work-a-holic. Generally speaking, divorce for any reason is not looked at favorably for pastors. While I am not an advocate for divorce, I have a big heart for any believer or leader who is going through marital problems.
The second experience would be taking care of my grandparents when they both were diagnose with advanced dementia. My family decided that they would not be put into a home. Instead, we provided 24 hour care, and it taught me love, sacrifice, and empathy on a new level.
Providing spiritual care or soldiers who were receiving urgent care, providing triage for injured soldiers, praying for soldiers who lost families members while deployed with no chance of coming back home for the funeral, and ministering to soldiers who died in combat or due to suicide has also had a profound effect on me.
