[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Community – I am a people person and love to surround myself in community and to serve one another and grow together as we walk along side each other

2. Outreach – I love to help others and meet them where thy are needed. I find myself often being filled when I am serving others.

3. Family – family is the most important thing in my life. Spending time with them is probably the thing that brings me the most joy!

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I love to work with Young Adults the most. I feel like the time in life between college and adulthood 20s-30s is one of the most influential times in developing who you are as an adult. There are also many who stray in that time period of their life. It is important to show them that God is in everything including college.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up int he church and grew up praying and knowing God. However, my faith was very shallow. In college I drifted away from God and partied a lot and had several relationships. At the age of 23 I was raped in a house full of friends on the eve of my birthday. My boyfriend (at the time) was also in the house and didnt come to my defense nor protected me when he learned what had happened. I was really hurt by what had happened and eventually blamed myself for not being sober enough to protect myself. In 2013 (25yrs old), i had dug myself in a huge hole of depression and denial. I saw my brother thriving with God and wanted what he had. I felt if i could just get a little of God I will be okay. I was invited to a small group by my brother several times but it wasnt until my best friend asked me to attend that I actually went. There I was able to really see God for the first time and be loved without anyone judging me. I was taken in and adopted as a niece and was loved on by many. That is where I began my walk back to Christ. I went to church with my brother and attended their young adults group and began growing with God.

Outreach Team Leader – lead two teams overseas (2018-2019) and teams to Mexico (2017)
Small Group Lead (2014-2016)
Prayer Team Leader (2014-2016)
Outreach Team (2013-2015)

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Mexico 2013 – this was the place I first felt the Holy Spirit. I went to Mexico for a weekend to serve alongside other young adults at an orphanage. To be honest its hard to put the experience into a few short sentences but God really moved among the team and the pastors at the orphanage. There were several obstacles on our way to get to Mexico from not having enough cars heading down to one car getting a flat and changing it quickly to make it to the boarder before it closed. Our team made it into the boarder with 10 minutes to spare before closing. Once at the orphanage God moved in several ways from worshiping together as a team and seeing God heal people to the pastor speaking into our lives. This orphanage has a special place in my heart and is a place I call home. I’ve been back on several occasions and not one time has been any less amazing.

Haiti 2018 – there were a lot of obstacles to get me to a place where I was able to lead but God kept on speaking the work Hope over me. Reminding me to have hope in him and faith in what he is telling me. To walk in obedience knowing he will bring what he has spoke to my heart to pass.

Young Adults Ministry – I had the opportunity to grow tremendously while attending the young adults ministry. I received a lot of healing and had an amazing time serving others. This is where I got to work out a lot of my mess but continually was accepted for being me.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

I was raped at the age of 23 – I believe this experience helped me open my eyes to those that are abused and not only do I have more compassion for them but I feel lead to help them and walk alongside of them. It is important for those who are going through trauma to know that they are not alone and that they have someone with them who fully understands their pain.

I have been hurt by someone in the church, they took personal feelings towards me and used their position and power to make me feel less than. During this time I believed that I was not meant to lead in any complicity because the person made it very difficult for me to do so. With prayer and the help of my leaders who saw more in me than I saw in myself I was able to walk through the hurt and learn from it. I know that people can get hurt by the church but I also learned that people in the church are just that – they are people which means they will fall short. Knowing that we are all broken has opened my eyes to
