S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Susan Beaber for taking the SHAPE Assessment. [H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love seeing people in the “oh, I get it now” moment after I explain something to them.

2. I love being active, and talking (to me, talking is a way to be active!).

3. I love being with kids and watching their desire to learn and have fun.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I love working with those with similar desires as myself, as well as those eager to learn. I have always loved being with kids, preschool age.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

As I watch my children learn and grow, I feel like there are not enough activities for them. Just Sunday isn’t enough for them, they want to go to church daily.

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was almost 13 when we began going to church, and just afters couple months got saved and soon became baptized. The Pastor was very energetic and got me excited for God, the youth group was amazing, and we had regular praise and worship events to attend. When I was 16, I left God for quite some time. I was 24 when I started attending church again, and 26 or 27 when I began attending the church I am at now, that is full of energetic people for God, making God exciting again, and I soon gave my life back to God and have not been happier.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

I had met a Christian boy in study hall in High School, because he was reading his Bible, and I wrote him a note. He never gave up on me or God, with bringing me back to God. He was always there to answer my questions, and if he didn’t know, he would go home and study. Even though I was angry with God, his passion for God gave me hope.

Marrying my husband. Because of our seemingly opposite personalities, he has pushed me to be more open and understanding in ways I never thought I could be.

My children. I had a miscarriage at a young age, that left me feeling as though I was not meant to be with kids in any way, a mother or teacher. My children have been a miracle in showing me that I have a desire for teaching kids for a reason.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

I was abused emotionally, verbally, physically, and sexually in a past relationship. I was stuck, and did not know how to get out, making it worse, I worked with the guy, so even if I broke up with him, is see him t days a week, 8 hours a day. I am a much stronger person, for myself, because of him, and because of him, I am able to understand why people stay in those relationships, where before I would blame the victim, sadly.

My parents divorced when I was 4. My dad soon married an abusive woman who did not allow him to see me. He finally left her when I was 11. I saw him almost everyday until he died when I turned 12. And when I was 13, my step dad got in trouble, and I lost him as my father figure.i understand, to am extent, what the kids of divorced parents go through, whether they see their dad/mom regularly, once a month, once a year, or not at all. As well as understand, to an extent, how they feel if one of their parents passed away.

I was bullied all through school, and usually by people who would be my friend as long as no one else from school was around. I understand it isnt as simple as “ignoring it” sometimes. It goes deeper than that. They say the person who sexually abuses a child is usually a family member or close friend. People tend to fail to realize most bullying at school is by a friend, or even group of friends, leaving you feel abandoned and unloveable. I understand that feeling.
