#1 Gift, Teaching (93%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have been in Gods Word and involved in church and Christian ministries consistently for over 30 years. I have sat under many godly and gifted preachers/ teachers during these years.
The Lord has given me conviction to dig deep in to the Bible on my own as well, but equally important has shown me how the Holy Spirit uses the Word to change and strengthen me in Christlikeness. I believe God has given me a foundation of Biblical understanding that I am able to present to others, by His help, in a way that is understandable to them.

#2 Gift, Evangelism (90%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
My own journey of coming to the Lord was through a valley of drugs, immorality, depression/ suicidal desires, abortion, and so on. I have deep compassion and understanding for spiritually lost and desperate people. God has also given me many opportunities through my Christian journey to engage with a wide variety of unbelievers and learn about their world, what they are experiencing and suffering through. Mixing this with my years of being in Gods Word and knowing what Gods remedies for sin and suffering has given me evangelism ability. Sometimes I feel lazy and don’t want to lay aside my agenda for others, but I believe God is challenging me to grow in that area.

#3 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (90%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I believe my ability to be able to exhort or encourage someone is based in my answers to the other questions as well; But just through many of life’s struggles, and the experiences God has allowed me to walk through, blessings, deep trials, personal sin, I have seen that God is faithful. His faithfulness to me as his beloved daughter is the message that I can give to these whether they are resisting Him, suffering under a providentially ordained trial, or experiencing a season of joy.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love to care for my family, my husband, my kids, grandkids. I love to show the the love of Christ and bless them in their day to day lives. I love having the opportunity to be a living example of a Christian, with the hopes that it draws them closer to God in deep personal ways as well. I want to leave them with a solid Christian example/ legacy.

2. I love my friendships with various Christian ladies I’ve walked along side of- some for a short time, some for many decades. I love most of all the discipleship aspects of these relationships, the back and forth care and sharing of life’s hardships and joys together. I love praying together with these ladies and waiting to see Gods answers to prayers.

3. I love art. The whole world is art to me – color, shapes, textures, atmospheres. I love studying artists and their journeys thru their art careers.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I most enjoy woman who are young adult age, 18 on up when it comes to discipleship relationships.
I like working with other couples when Jim and I are together.
I have worked with many children over the years in children’s ministries and do enjoy that too- I enjoy working in camp kitchens and serving meals, leading crafts with kids.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I get concerned knowing how to minister to the poor and needy without actually hindering them in learning to care for their own needs. I want to learn more about this, be taught by those who know a lot about these types of things.

I have seen church leaders who lack transparency and the ability to receive counsel and correction ( lack of true humility )from other leaders and members in their local church. This is a church issue that is always on my radar because it seems to be very common unfortunately.

I believe God is calling Jim and into a new and deeper place of laying ourselves down His sake to help build a new and deeply needed church. That scares me and excites me.

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

My parents were saved when I was in high school, but by then I was already involved in drugs and sexual promiscuity. In college I went deeper into these things until I became aware of my intense lost ness and guilt. A campus ministry shared the gospel with me at the very end of college, last semester and I was saved.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Reformed Baptist Church – Downingtown, Pa.
– was there about 20 years. Jim was a bi- vocational pastor, so I did a lot of supportive types of ministry such as counseling as a couple and a lot of hospitality.

Covenant Fellowship Church- Glen Mills Pa.
– was there about 2 years. We were involved in youth group ministry activities and children’s ministry.

Brandywine Grace Church- Downingtown Pa.
– have been there almost 10 years.
– Jim and headed up Children’s Ministry for about 5 years.
– have been very active in the youth group, serving in many many ways-
– we lead a community group in our home, which included married couples and single adults.
– participated in a ladies prayer group for 10 years.
– helped co-lead an informal women’s group of about 25 women doing bimonthly bible studies, parenting studies, marriage studies, mentoring studies.
– also served at Chester County Women’s services helping crisis, often unwed pregnant women through their pregnancies. Worked here off and on over several years.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Witnessing God work in my loved ones, especially my kids as they have become grown adults.

Developing deep friendships with sisters in Christ who are committed to seeing me grow.

Participating in different types of churches with different types of believers/ cultures. Seeing how diverse true believers are.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Being part of a more narrow legalistic church that put unnecessary restrictions on believers and made the gospel come with unnecessary stumbling blocks.

Having a daughter go off and live a very non- Christian life completely against the way we raised her, get pregnant outside of marriage, move back home with her son. This was one of the hardest seasons in my life but has given me a ton of compassion for parents with wayward children and compassion for the prodigal.

Going through various church related troubles, disunity in a church body, misunderstandings in a church body, sometimes between a leader and member that doesn’t get resolved and seeing the pain and destruction of that has been very painful. I want to be a peacemaker in the church I’m in and help others through strife when it comes up.
