S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Johnel Amerson for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Giving small gifts or doing favors for other people without them knowing it was me. I like watching their reactions

2. Telling people how wonderful they are and giving them concrete reason why I believe it to be true.

3. Smiling at or complementing others and watching their mood shift

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I don’t have a strong preference. If I had to pick elderly would be my least favorite. But I still don’t mind

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I’m not certain yet. We are getting back into going to church more regularly…. we took a year off as a family and spent time reconnecting with god and each other and not just attending church bc it was what was expected of us or doing so to avoid guilt. It was the best thing we could have done for our house.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Never a time in my life when I felt like I didn’t know Jesus. My faith brings me peace and strength

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Sang in the choir

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Loving parents and grandparents- thought me that people should know you love Jesus by how you treat others.

Being a wife and parent

Stability – never had to worry about basic necessities – I don’t take this experience for granted

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Heartache – I learned that people will let you down sometimes, but that doesn’t define your ability to appreciate life

Death of my grandmother and caring for my grandfather who was a brilliant man who ended up with Alzheimer’s

Failure- I learned you can get knocked down and still start over.

Wrapping It Up
