This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I enjoy preparing small group lessons from scratch, or from established plans. I have taught young kids, but have mainly taught adult classes.

#2 Gift, Teaching (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I like managing budgets and plans. I’m better at following protocols and managing to expectations. I work better on planning when with a group. I’m not that much of a visionary.

God asks us to give back and I believe we need to share our gifts, our talents, and our abilities in any way that we can. You can’t just do one without doing the others.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Being an active participant in the life of our church. I like attending services, small groups, online bible studies, family events, and helping with outreach programs/events. Of course developing relationships along the way is a huge benefit of participation!!

2. Planning and doing things with my family is a top priority. We like to go camping and I love going to places where we can learn about history and/or participate in a local event/festival while there.

3. I enjoy helping to lead my Son’s Boy Scout Troop and am a trained adult leader for my Wife’s Girl Scout troop too. Scouting is a great way to get outside and appreciate God’s earth while developing leadership and learning life long skills.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I like working with youth and the age changes as my kids change! Right now it’s middle and high school age. I also have a fondness for working with seniors. I love their perspective and wisdom and like to look out for them in any way I can.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Small groups, behind the scenes planning and managing like Finance Team, ministerial support, community outreach events, Men’s groups (but I have not been in one for a while).

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I first accepted Christ during a summer VBS in 5th Grade. I challenged my beliefs during High School and early College. I accepted Christ again at a Word of Life Ministries presentation on Revelations during my second year of college.

Youth Group leader and missions team member during High School. Member of Intervarsity and Campus Crusade for Christ while at JMU.

Member of First UMC in Cville and served as Youth Missions Team Adult Leader 2X. Led Kitchen Committee and Personnel Team. Member adult class and men’s group. 2000 – 2006

Transferred membership to SHBC in 2006. Have taught elementary class and adult classes. Member of Kitchen Committee. Led Deacons and Personnel Team. Worked with Search Team for new pastor.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Missions Trip to Puerto Rico for 1 month during college. Trip to Philmont Scout Ranch with Boy Scouts during high school.

Singing in Spirit Bound (local non-denominational Christian) singing group as well as Celebration Singers (Chapel Service Choir) while at First UMC.
