This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
My journey into faith was very much shaped my an evangelical framework and as such i am inherently inclined to focus on evangelism. I am not as naturally gifted in this area as many people I have worked with before however my ministry choices have definitely served to develop my evangelical ability and experience.

I am likely predisposed toward a teaching mentality as a result of my mother’s influence. She was both passionate about education, both formal and informal, and an excellent educator herself, and much of that attitude has been passed on to me.

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
i believe a lot of the Shepherding heart that i have these days stems from my teenage years where, ironically, i didn’t at all care about the emotional well being of others for their sake. Instead, i was very disconnected and self serving. It was in journeying out of this period of life and encountering Jesus that i begun to effectively care for and empathize with others and become concerned with their journeys.

[H]eart

1. I love when I am sharing my faith and i see something click in someones head. Their eyes widen a bit, their brow relaxes and they just understand. That is a moment that uplifts my spirit.

2. I love spending time with those closest to me, most notably my family, enjoying their company and cooking and eating a meal together.

3. i enjoy building things. I find deep satisfaction in knowing that I have worked hard on something, and it exists and is well crafted because I invested the time into it.

I love working with those who are disadvantaged, who live in areas of broad and deep issues. I typically work well with young people, especially teenagers.

For lack of a more original phrase, luke-warm christianity concerns me. I believe any obstacle can be overcome by the Church if it is passionately and faithfully following God.

[E]xperience

Coming from a non-christian family, i called myself an atheist. During University i started looking into philosophy and religions and looking for answers and significance in life in gneral. After being invited to Chruch by a frien I started exploring faith and after several months of looking into apologetic and exploring aspects of faith I decided to commit myself to Christ and his calling on my life. I got baptized, and started pouring myself into every ministry I could.

2010 – 2014, Hawkesbury NSW, volunteered at RPM youth and was an active member of Hawkesbury Valley Baptist Church

2011 – Shalvey NSW, present, volunteered and worked with Impact Youth, (The Fields), a youth group in Shalvey in both a team and sole leader capacity.
2014 – 2017, Shalvey NSW, participated in and lead Outpost Church plant
2016 – Present, Shalvey NSW, Chifley College Shalvey Campus,High School Chaplain

2014 – 2016, Volunteered as part of a team running a monthly communion service in Cobham Juvenile Justice Centre

On my first trip out to Shalvey and Willmot, we spent an hour late at night engaging in a time of deep and profound prayer and worship. As a result i had a deep spiritual and physical recharge which energized me to go out and share with people nearby.

I had an extremely privileged childhood, growing up in a safe, beautiful area and never wanting for security, love or food. As a result I feel compelled to do what I can to ensure as many others as possibly are able to experience similar privilege.

During 2012 and 2013 I was dating a non-christian girl, and through significant struggles both in regard to the relationship/faith tension and what i felt was limited support from my church network. The resulting breakup was devastating and I felt limited support relevant to the level of difficulty I was experiencing. As a result I feel a deep compassion for anyone dealing with the tension of being in a relationship that seems at odds with their faith journey, and likewise anyone who feels under supported by their faith community following a significant sacrifice and the subsequent grieving process that can come.

Being on a team in which a large number of undesirable tasks typically were left to me to maintain or else abandon completely. I feel deeply for those who feel trapped into having to do a lot of tasks that they were either cornered into or felt were assumed they would do.

As a teenager I found I had no passion or compassion for anything. As a result of now having both of those i now feel deeply for those struggling with not connecting or caring about things, especially during adolescence.
