S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Joseph Teoh Zi Heng for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (87%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I often find myself relating to how others feel. Having been discouraged and feeling left out myself, I’d like to encourage those who might be experiencing it.

#2 Gift, Evangelism (75%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
God has made Himself quite a significant part of my life. The joys, comforts and hopes I’ve received from knowing He is God has been too many to count. I want others who are depressed, hurt and without hope to also find their joys. comforts and hopes in Christ and in God.

#3 Gift, Pastoring/Shepherding (65%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
My growth as a person and as a Christian is the product of many people’s discipling and mentoring. Christ Himself made disciples. I have experienced, seen and read too many good things that shepherding does to overlook doing that myself.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Being able to encourage and comfort others.

2. Being able to bring into light the goodness and awesomeness of the Gospel. When people find their hope in Christ.

3. Seeing people grow as a person and in maturity in Christ.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I love working with people who are passionate about Christ, despite of age. I prefer working with people who are more outspoken and cheerful.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I find myself getting really riled up on these few issues. First; when people in church are not cared for. Second; when the word of God is handled seemingly carelessly. Third; when rules and systems are in place where it stunts growth more than promoting it.
I get fairly excited to be an usher.
I like being part of a committee and being able to put our heads together to discuss about both the issues in church and the ideas on how we can tackle them.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Through an experience with a warm and caring senior at a Christian Fellowship in my secondary school. She made me feel welcomed and part of the community.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Vice-chairperson in INTI International University Christian Fellowship (INTI IU-CF). Served for 7 months.

Chairperson for 2 camps. One for the youth at Evangelical Free Church Seremban (EFC Seremban), while the other at INTI IU-CF.

Served as prayer coordinator for both the youth at EFC Seremban and INTI IU-CF. Served for a year on at both of those ministries.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

The faith a senior has on me to the right thing during a misunderstanding I had with a secondary school teacher. Learned to do the right things, even though difficult.

A conversation with a junior at university who needed someone to be her listener. Learned to be a listener.

A conversation with my uncle about his middle age hair loss. Learned to trust God when He gives, even especially when He takes.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Having felt left out and not part of a community. Developed an awareness in me that is constantly looking out for anyone that might be feeling left out or excluded.

Experienced an immense sense of incapability due to inability to perform. Helps me to now better relate with those who struggle with self-doubt; to be able to encourage them to give themselves grace and room to make mistakes and fail.

Having close friends whom struggled with suicidal thoughts, and having personally experienced depression where I was having suicidal thoughts. Makes me someone who cares about how others feel and is concerned for their mental well-being.
