S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Joy Ranson for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Giving (84%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
God has always blessed my life, when I had little, and when I had much. He has provided so many of my needs through the hearts and hands of others. I want to be that kind of person.

#2 Gift, Evangelism (75%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I hurt for those who don’t know Christ. I would like to be bolder in sharing, but try to share by faith often. I realize where God brought me from, and appreciate those who were bold enough and loving enough to share my need for Christ.

#3 Gift, Mercy Showing (75%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I am so undeserving of God’s blessings, yet he continues to heal and forgive even when I know I don’t deserve it. I am thankful every day for His mercy towards me. I appreciate the amazing love He has for me by His willingness to take the cross on my behalf. I want to show just a little of that kind of love to others. I am no better than anyone else – equal in God’s eyes.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Love my children and grandchildren in such a way that hopefully they see Jesus enough to want to follow Him.

2. Sing! I love singing to Him and about Him.

3. Serve those who can’t repay. Serve women who seem to struggle in their faith.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

All ages. I love people.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I don’t want to become accepting of sin and afraid to confront it, in myself or others. I enjoy children’s ministry, women’s ministry, small groups, bible studies. I love seeing the young ones learn. I enjoy seeing older ladies excited about their faith. I hurt for those struggling in their marriages. I am concerned about young single ladies who love the Lord, but fall into the trap of worldly desires. Been there, done that. I feel deeply for young families so influenced by the world and all it offers. So many children are being raised with little discipline and a feeling of entitlement.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Grew up in church, baptized at age 8, more out of obligation than heart. At age 24, became convicted that I had never really given my heart fully to the Lord, rededicated my life and baptized for forgiveness and receive the Holy Spirit.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Farmdale Church of Christ, Barboursville – teacher, choir director for teen choir, senior choir and adult choir for over 20 years.

Gateway – teach children, Bible studies, Choir director, women’s ministry

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Marriage to a good and faithful Christian man

Involvement in a loving and caring congregation.

Grew up learning the love of music from family and church

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Divorced twice. Rationalized my poor choices as acts of compassion, and “God wants me to be happy” excuses.

Parents divorce after 24 years. Only remember a very happy childhood.

Not necessarily negative, but difficult – Single parenting.
