S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Gayla Register for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I believe we should all should be willing to serve our local church and others. I don’t mind being in the background.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have enjoyed teaching women in smaller groups, I don’t know about larger groups.

I’m surprised at this. I have a desire for evangelism, but I am not one who is bold in speaking. My purpose in having international students is to have them see that Christianity is loving, kind & caring–not an enemy. I share with them but not boldly witness to them.
[H]eart
1. I want to be an influence for my granddaughters, but only one is local and she is still young & impressionable, so I will concentrate on her.
2. I enjoy leading Bible Studies for women. I am leading 2 now–one at church and one in my neighborhood. Next semester I will possibly lead 3–the same two & adding one at a different church.
3. I enjoying planning & having people over to my house. But as I am getting older, it is getting harder to do all the preparations.
I love to work with women. I’ve mainly worked with older women, but would welcome younger women. Also, I’ve loved to work with international students. I spent 4 yrs in Kenya, and although many years ago I can still relate somewhat with their culture shock, new language & customs, etc.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.
Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility
[E]xperience
I became a Christian as a junior in high school at a summer church camp (I had gone forward at a church with my mom when I was 10: she was moving her church membership when we had moved to a new city). I believe I settled any doubt when I was in high school.
I was a missionary for 4 years teaching at a school for missionary children in Kenya.
I was a Mother’s Day Out teacher and director at our Holiday Baptist Church in Salt Lake City, UT for 2 years. I was church secretary at that same church for 2 yrs. I taught at a Christian school in Salt Lake City, UT for 2 yrs.
Most of my adult life I have been involved in ministry as a volunteer–with children, youth, women.
My experience at the Baptist Student Union at Oklahoma University. There I grew significantly in my Christian faith & walk with Jesus under leadership of several strong Christian men and women (some had been on staff with Navigators).
Living & teaching in Kenya for 4 years. I became a world citizen–had more interest in people and events around the world, not just in the US. This in part led to our adoption of two children from S. Korea.
Hosting over 30 international students (both high school & community college) over a 16 year period.
Filing bankruptcy on our business.
Losing all our stock value (in the millions) in the 2001 stock crash of the dot.com stocks.
Wrapping It Up
The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?
1. My Relationship with GOD
2. My Relationship with Others
- Putting Your Spouse First
- Your Kids Second
- Everyone Else After those
3. Visit former students in their countries–this would take a long time. One student in Pakistan has already asked us to come stay a year with her & family (and we have about 10 other Pakistani students to see).
4. My biggest God-sized dream is that my husband who has had 2 strokes, but still works, could get better balance & stability so we could travel.
5. To be able to stay healthy and strong
