S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Joan Swiezynski for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. #1 Gift, Giving (62%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
God has given us the skills to be in positions where financially we can give more back, whether that is through monthly donations or giving of my time, or even donating things to others in need.

#2 Gift, Serving (59%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I feel serving is my BIGGEST gift, as I enjoy active participation in something that makes a positive impact to people.

#3 Gift, Teaching (50%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
The holy spirit has moved me at times to proclaim truths that sometimes even I have not always spent time pondering. I need structure and preparation to do this. But I do feel I sometimes fall short in my verbal expression at times. I think of wonderful points to share that don’t always get conveyed the way I hoped.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Serving others in need,

2. caring for my family,

3. serving (Supporting) people I work with (to help make their jobs easier)

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Kind, appreciative people / Age – generally anyone over the age of 10 – adult

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Youth Ministries – especially since my children partake, Used to help with fellowship and the baking team (but that sort of dwindled), would like to promote the knowledge of the Creation story and focusing on looking at our world and creatures through the lens of God created – not some 6 billion year old view. I appreciate it when Science and God align and truth may be revealed.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Brought up learning about Jesus/God through Parochial schools (elem –> high), but then strayed away during college, reconnected when I met my husband, served a lot prior to my first child being born. Added in 2 other children, marriage suffered, loss of connection to God/Jesus. Then depression for a long time, then God worked through a bible camp and some of my personal experiences and a book to remind me that HE was the leader of my life. I began to reconnect again and chose to NOT let the evil one pull me into depression ever again.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Lakepoint Church – Collision Youth Ministry (2-3 years??)

Milwaukee Rescue Mission (2 months)

Street Angels (1 year)

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Having to go through rough spells and working through some awkward Christian Marriage Counseling to reconnect my relationship to my husband, allowed me to be opened to the healing God can do with relationships.

My children. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a mother. It makes me appreciate Mary and Jesus lives. I can’t imagine life without my children.

My 8th grade science teacher, Mr. Weishan, who was an awesome man. Instrumental in teaching me some giving lessons and questioning lessons.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Tough marriage situations

Having been abused as a child

Feeling awkward and self conscious as a youth (Self esteem was low), can understand how some kids can feel different.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. To help all those people that are homeless to find homes and a God centered life. (support the Milwaukee Rescue Mission)

4. To help share and support children afflicted with nighttime bedwetting

5. To help all young people build their self-confidence. As that prevents destructive behaviors.
